Tracy and I are all packed as we leave tomorrow morning at 0700 for Frankfurt.  We are excited to everyone on the 27th when we board the boat.  Hope everyone has a safe trip over, and we will see you soon.

Jean and I are on Delta Flight 62 from Atlanta. We arrive at 11:00 AM on 7/24. We have reserved a taxi using the site you posted, Marsha. If anyone wants to share with us, there is no additional fee for up to 4 people. We've reserved one for 590 CZK.

Jen, I think that if you contact Jeri at Olivia she can give you some advice re phones in Europe.

She's at guestservices@olivia.com or call her at 1-800-631-6277 Option 2.

Hi All.
We are getting so excited, we leave in nine days!!!  Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about calling the US from Europe?   I just found out my cell phone won't work there. Can you buy pre paid phones when we get there?  I really need to have some phone that I can be reached at, but don't need a lot of minutes.   Jen

Thanks so much for the link, Julie. I pre-booked a taxi for 590 CZK I'm assuming they are Czech Kronars? In any event, these drivers are supposed to speak English, and the pre-booking appears to guarantee the fee. They also appear to take credit cards (VISA, MC anyway). We'll get 1000 CZK in the airport via the ATM before we leave Atlanta to be safe.

I just hate getting off a trans-Atlantic flight and have to think about transportation. Actually, I hate the think about anything at that point.

We had a wonderful pre-cruise experience in Athens, Greece when we did the Greece to Italy cruise. We had no time for the pre-cruise Olivia package, so we made arrangements online for a taxi and an English-speaking guide. We received a tour of Athens, including climbing to the top of the Acropolis and then Voila! we were delivered to the port. It was the best $500 US I've ever spent. 'Course now that we're both retired, coming up with that kind of cash isn't as easy.

 See you soon!

I posted this earlier re taxis from Prague airport to hotel:

"For those of us going to Prague before the cruise, here is some info re cost of taxis from the airport to hotels. It seems that it will cost approx. $36 or 600 Czeck Korunas, to get to our hotel. I found quite a few websites that all had the same info, this was the most comprehensive:"

http://www.pragueairport.co.uk/taxi.htm

Also found that the most frequently recommended taxi company was AAA. They appear to be most reliable & have English speaking drivers. We will be looking for them at the airport. We are  also allowing  for maybe 800 Korunas just to be sure.

See you soon..........

We received our travel materials today!! Hooray! I'm so excited and Jean is, too. One burning question:

How much will it cost to take a taxi Automobile from the airport to the Hotel for the pre-cruise package? And, what form of money should we have in hand?

We generally get money exchanged at the airport before departure so we don't have to think about it in a jet lagged state. Sleep Once in Prague, we'll be OK. Cool

Hi Morgan.  Merci!

Well, that was pretty much the extent of my French.  Please teach us more!  Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Jen. The pre-cruise info that we received says that there will be one casual-elegant night. The remaining evenings are casual. From our experience they don't normally have any other "theme" nights on the smaller cruises & there's no indication of one in the package.

We have the schedule for the daily ports of call but there are no times shown for arrivals & departures. I believe the same schedule is on this site.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Questions
07/01/2008, 1:27 PM

Hi Everyone,

My partner and I will be on this trip too, we can't wait!  Does anyone know if there will be a formal night or a theme night on the cruise?  I know Olivia usually has some sort of theme night where everyone dresses up.  Also, does anyone have a schedule of when we are in port, the website is pretty vague about the times we are in port and the excursions.
