I was on the Hawaii cruise and never noticed any large waves. My partner and I were scheduled for a kayaking excursion in Kauai. We were actually supposed to kayak on a fresh water river inland, but our excursion was cancelled due to the tsumani warnings.

We ended up taking a cab with another couple to sight see and check out a couple of the waterfalls. It was disappointing, but we got some shopping in and better safe than sorry.

Our snuba guide in Kona (on the big island) did mention that the ocean receded noticably that day and made tendering from the ships in port at Kona that day a little more tricky than usual.

That's good to hear, Jill! I figured "homoliviasexuals" could rock the boat more than a tsunami! Glad everything is smooth sailing and that you're having good weather and a good time!

Thanks for the update! We're thinking of you!

No worries everyone. We had a mini tsunami in the morning around 9:30 yesterday on Maui that registered 16 inches. It was so small, it came and went and no one even noticed.

All is well Rosie Jones arrived last night and spent the day golfing with our gals. The weather has been absoluely gorgeous. In fact, so beautiful, that we decided to have a pajama dance psrty on the deck tonight after the newlywed-oldywed game!

Wish you were all here!

Sounds like the coast of California may have rocked more than places closer to Japan.

I was wondering too. I checked the bridgecam on board a few times yesterday & they were in port at Kauai until 5pm local. (About midnight here I think). I heard last night that the quake produced a few tidal waves in Japan but nothing serious. I suspect (hope) our folks got nothing worse than a wee bit of choppy waters sailing from Kauai to Maui.
Hey Jill, let us know.....

Wondering if the Hawaii folks can tell us if they felt the impact of the tsunami generated by the earthquake in Japan?
