We were able to get seat assignments when we originally booked the flights and when they changed our flights we were given the same seats.  Guess we will have to look for the Cuban food while we wait to get to paradise.  See you in Miami!

Has anyone had trouble with getting assigned seats on your re assigned flights.

Lisa and I are booked on flights but on two of the flights we have no seats and they won't assign them until the day of departure.

We are also on a red eye Friday.  We connect in New York and then on to Provo .

 Hopefully we will have seats.

We're flying in on a red-eye from the West Coast as well...but arriving in Miami on Saturday morning around 6a.  Not sure what we will do to pass the long layover...still have some time to think about it.  Was excited about arriving in Turks in the morning and sitting at the pool or on the beach waiting for the rest of the gang to arrive.  Now they will be waiting for us....who knows, maybe the flight times will change again before we travel.

We had the same thing happen with changes to our schedule and 7 1/2 hour layover in Miami.  I did a search for ideas for a long stay at MIA and have only come up with the comment at the bottom.  So maybe a decent place to eat at least.  Three of us will be traveling from the west coast on a red eye arriving on Friday rather than Saturday, anyone else coming then?  We could get together to help pass the time.

I am an airline ticket agent so I am well aware of wait times at the checkpoints. La Carreta at the airport has decent Cuban food not just pastries. It is cafeteria-style so you can "see" the food.

We have the same issues with American..instead of a morning arrival in Turks, we now won't get there till just before dinner.  Guess lots of us will be on that flight from Miami.  With Spirit only flying on Sundays, we don't have many choices....crap!  Oh well, we're going to get there eventually...and we're going to have a great time!

Our flights were changed as well.  We also booked on American in March, however we have an 8 hour layover in Miami on the way there and a 5 hour layover in New york on the way back.  UGGG... I have tried to have the flights changed but they have canceled so many flights it just is not possible to get anything better.  The upside is we still have flights to get there :)

Has anyone had problems w flights being changed? We booked through AA airline, however our flights keep being changed. We now have an hour between flights in Dallas and Miami. We dont know if this is even possible. These airports are pretty spread out. Any suggestions? We have had reservations since March.

United and Delta fly into Fort Lauderdale and American goes into Miami.  I've seen Spirit Airline flights from Fort Lauderdale into Providenciales and American from either Miami or Dallas into PLS as well.  Talk with your travel agent or do some research online and you will see some options.

Good luck!

I am going to try and go for the second week. I live in Wilsonville Oregon. Any advice on who is best to travel with? And exactly what flights I need. This is going to be my first Solo trip and of course the ex booked all the travel before. Any advice would help.

We live in Eugene, OR and will be flying into Fort Lauderdale on Friday, staying overnight and then taking the Spirit Airlines flight from FL into PLS.  It's pretty much impossible to travel from the West Coast into Turks on the same day...at least I haven't been able to figure it out.

We can fly home on the same day, but plan to stay overnight again on Saturday, then fly from FL into Eugene on Sunday.  Nice way to transition out of the vacation.

have a great day!

We are coming from Toronto and also would like to spend 3-4 days pre resort. I did have the name of a resort which is next door. A well travelled friend recommended it so I am confident it would be nice. Will post when I find out the name.

getting there

Hello all!

We will be joining you this fall, but aren't sure as to the best way to get there. Any suggestions? We'll be coming from Seattle, WA. We would like the fastest route, but cheapest is best :) Also, we were thinking maybe we could fly into Miami or another major south FL city and stay a few days before going to the resort. Has anyone else done this? Pros/Cons?

 Thanks!

Samantha & Michelle
