I loved Poppy and thought she was great in her Idol hosting duties.

Hey, if anyone is in Connecticut - Poppy's going to be at ECSU on 11/15.

I am not sure that Poppy got that the idol event was not about her.  We came to see the contestants, not her.  oh well, many paths up the mountain and it was all worth it to hear the eventual winner sing!

YesWE LOVED POPPY!!!Big Smile  Sometimes people get teased by comedians onstage, part of the danger of going up there....but all in good fun, she also received many hugs by Poppy at the same time she was getting her dose of "on the spot input" Confused

We thought Poppy was definately the funniest and most natural at her act than any we've seen in a long time.  Still laughing at her remarks, her walk, etc.

Loved the time we all got to spend together ladies, hope to see you all again!

Geez peeps!  Poppy was the best comedian on board!  Why is that? Maybe because she has the ability to think on the spot.  And Seriously...Mimi did stink.  Kudos to her...I never would've gotten on stage....but dang.....leave the comic alone!  Kudos to Poppy too...a good comedian always gets in trouble...lol.  Hopefully she won't let people like you bring her down.  Who was racist on board...I find this hard to believe? really?  I didn't run into even ONE rude person...wow.

Poppy is hysterical! I will definitely go see her perform if she's ever in town. I think she was making more of a comment towards the judges! It was unfortunate that Mimi was the butt of the mistake! In the end they added the contestant that was suppose to be called and she ended up winning the event! I think what matters is whether or not Mimi took it as a joke. Kudos to her for having the guts to sing on stage to begin with. I thought it was good that she walked towards Poppy on the stage after she kept going on and on about it. I thought Poppy redeemed herself a little bit when she told her.. she wasn't going anywhere and that she was going to rehearse in her room and win. It lightened the situation a little bit. As for unolivia like... there were several rude ladies on the ship... there are also racist and way to judgemental lesbians out there..... Poppy is a comedian and goes with the moment.. she has to be quick witted and on the spot.. I don't think it was a big deal.. I just hope she apologized to Mimi..I don't think she needs to apologize to the audience at all though.... it was an act. If anything we need to remember that lesbians are not perfect! they can be just as rude and racist as anyone else...and I don't think Poppy falls into these categories.. she was just trying be funny.. it wasn't scripted... and well... it was suppose to be like american idol...

When you're in a small town, there's gonna be lots of nice people and some rude ones, even among the "celebs." That's how I look at it.

I heard amazing rudeness among guests. Like someone hogging 3 seats in the reserved for special needs seats who wouldn't move for special needs guests, saying, "You gotta have a wheelchair or something for me to move." Or the couple upset at who won bingo, saying, "She's already got enough money."

I also believe in karma, so if you're rude in this lifetime, have fun in the next!

Poppy's "rude" comments towards the Idol contestant

I want to preface this by saying that we had a great time on the cruise and laughed wholeheartedly at Poppy's stand-up routine during her Showcase.  She's obviously a very talented comic.

However ... what did you think of her treatment of Mimi, the young woman who sang in the Olivia Idol preliminary round?  At the end of the prelims,  the judges handed Poppy the list of who made it to the finals.  Poppy said (more than once) that  it must have been a mistake that Mimi was in the final group.  It was clearly meant as an insult, and there was an audible groan from the audience -- it seemed like we all felt sorry for Mimi as far what Poppy was saying about her.

My feelings are that Poppy crossed way over the line between funny and rude.  It was mean-spirited and very un-Olivia-like.  Then, to make matters worse, Poppy was emceeing something else the next day and said she'd heard comments that she was mean to Mimi and should apologize but that she thought about it and would do the same thing again, so (in her words) "f*** it."  Mimi ended up not participating in the finals -- supposedly because she had the "flu."

It was definitely a low point for me, and I'm just wondering if anyone else was bothered by it.
