I want to preface this by saying that we had a great time on the cruise and laughed wholeheartedly at Poppy's stand-up routine during her Showcase. She's obviously a very talented comic.
However ... what did you think of her treatment of Mimi, the young woman who sang in the Olivia Idol preliminary round? At the end of the prelims, the judges handed Poppy the list of who made it to the finals. Poppy said (more than once) that it must have been a mistake that Mimi was in the final group. It was clearly meant as an insult, and there was an audible groan from the audience -- it seemed like we all felt sorry for Mimi as far what Poppy was saying about her.
My feelings are that Poppy crossed way over the line between funny and rude. It was mean-spirited and very un-Olivia-like. Then, to make matters worse, Poppy was emceeing something else the next day and said she'd heard comments that she was mean to Mimi and should apologize but that she thought about it and would do the same thing again, so (in her words) "f*** it." Mimi ended up not participating in the finals -- supposedly because she had the "flu."
It was definitely a low point for me, and I'm just wondering if anyone else was bothered by it.
