That is so cool! Thank you so much for posting that. :) I am going to try it out (probably the informal one since it's easier for me to say) at my next lesson with them. You explain things really well. I will be practicing!!

Where in Russia are you? (Just curious.)

That I wrote in the previous report  is the example of informal greetings.

It's difficult to pronouce the fomal greetings, but you can try

Hello is Здавствуйте ['zdrav-stvui-te] Here is the three syllables. I divided them hyphens.  "u" always read as in the word "put",  "i" read as the last letter of the word "may".  We have two alike letters  И (as disc)   and   Й (as may)

Good-bye  is  До свидания [do svi-'da-ni-ya] "ya"  read as in the word "yard"

Wen, good luck))))

Ok))))

Hello  is  Привет [pri'vet]    "i" always read  as in the word "disc",    "e" - always  as in the word "yes"....  accent on the second syllableBig Smile

Afer "hello" you usually say "How do you do?" or "H r u?"  and we say the same phrase

"Как дела?" [Kak de'la?]        "a"  we always pronounce as in the word "must"

Did I explain clearly?Confused

P.S.: Bye is  Пока [po'ka]    read as written)))))))

Hey! I want to learn Russian, too. :) (Actually two of my dance coaches are Russian, so I could actually say "hello" or whatever to them if I knew how.)
