Hi Jill,

I´m in Spain now, but I was wondering what the voucher for the hotel looks like for the pre-trip in Nice looks like. The booklet says that it is included inside, but I don´t see anything. Can you tell me if it´s a code on a page, or something like that. Thanks.

Chris

Hi Anita and Harriet - There's nothing you need to do about the transfer now. We will send you more specific information on where and what time to meet us for your transfer to the ship in your final documents.

We sure hope you can consider the 2 night Paris Package with us - it is really reasonable considering the cost of hotels and the Euro in Europe right now!

See you soon.

Jill

Hi Jill,

Is there anything the 3 of us need to do for our transfers? We'll be in Nice July 5,6, and 7.

So for our transfer from Nice to the ship on the 8th, anything we need to do?

We're not sure yet if we'll be in Paris 1 or 2 days. Always the doggies left at home to consider and ooooooh, that terrible dollar vs the euro!

Thanks,

Anita Pace, Harriet Carpenter, Cynthia Badostain

Perfect!  Glad we could clear that up. Now, for those of you who are not on our pre/post package, it is VERY Important that you are giving yourself enough time to get to the host hotel in Nice (The Broccoli Plaza) to catch the transfer, which will be late morning/early afternoon. If your flight is arriving in the morning before 9 or 10am - you should be fine. Otherwise we strongly encourage you to book your air to arrive into Nice on July 7 so as not to risk any delayed flights. It will not be inexpensive to get to the ship by private car or taxi if you miss the group transfer from the hotel to the ship on July 8.

The time of the transfer will be confirmed in the final documents. What we have been told is that it will be sometime in the late morning/early afternoon, which to me means between 11AM and 1PM, but we will not have that finalized from the cruise company for another few months. This is exactly why we encourage you to give yourself piece of mind and come in at least one day early, and spend a little time in Nice!  It really is a beautiful city. The Hotel is wonderfully located across from the promenade/beach. Spend time in the quaint flower markets, have coffee in a café, or enjoy the beach (bring your reef walkers as they are pebble-beaches!) Or join us on an optional adventure in the late afternoon of July 7 to the breath-taking views in the village of Eze, then drive to Monte Carlo for a typical French group dinner, and have free time to explore the world-famous casinos before returning home. Our pricing for this hotel is reasonable, considering the price of the Euro, and we take care of just about everything for you once you get there. So please join us!

And if you have not considered our 2 night post-package in Paris - please do!. Once again, the Euro is sky high, and we were able to secure decent pricing for the Le Meridien Montparnasse hotel. One cannot just "drive" through Paris to the airport in the same day!  Paris is the city of romance, beauty, great Pomme Frites and mussels, wines . . .  The included City tour will give you a ice overview of the city, and you will have free time to explore on your own. Perhaps you can visit the Eiffel Tower, the famous Louvre Museum and see the Mona Lisa or the Statue of Venus.  After just two nights you'll soon be planning your next trip to Paris. And if you can, join us on the optional dinner cruise for a gourmet 4-course meal as the boat takes you down the river Seine to view the "City of Lights" at night. It is truly an experience of a lifetime. Olivia takes a section of the boat for us, and this includes transportation to and from the boat, an English speaking guide, cruise, 4 course meal and time on the upper deck to enjoy the romantic views!

If you have friends that can join you, please have them sign up! We will not be offering this again in 2009. We do have some space still available.

See you all soon.

Jill

Thanks, Jill, for your clarification.  Guest Services had previously told me the transportation to/from the ship was only for the pre/post guests.  We are staying several days in each city so the pre/post add ons didn't work for us.  See you on the bus in Nice!  Thanks for the prompt reply.  And Guest Services has since written me directly to clear this up.

Hi JC - The transfer from Nice to the ship is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, and from the Ship to Paris is more like 3 hours. Is there any reason you would do this independently rather than with us, as it is included in the cost of your trip?

Anybody thinking of doing this independently?  I know Nice is about 150 miles from the ship.  And probably about the same distance back to Paris.  I'm traveling in a group of 4.  Maybe if enough wanted to do this, we could get a large van.  Any ideas, suggestions?
