oh yeah, in addition to all I have stated, what i have also found out is that the bus offers directionals and such and pertinent information in 6 languages and fortunately one of them is english, although I do hear english is spoken by many,  I do think the french would like us to make an "attempt" at french.  Bonjour is always nice!Smile

I dont know if anyone has this info, but I have been doing some research in reference to the transport to the hotel Le Meridien Montparnarsse in Paris from the CDG airport.  Apparently there is a "bus" called air france, that stops right across the street from our hotel.  The tickets can be purchased at the CDG airport or on the bus itself. The bus only has a few stops so its quicker and easier than the metro.  It costs around 21 dollars or 14 euros.  A cab from what I am reading is a lot more expensive and the shuttle has or can have more stops than you might like, has to be done at least 48 hours in advance and is even more expensive than you might imagine.  The price is contingent on the value of the dollar I guess but this is all stuff I found on the web.  Happy trails...val

Let's see - where to start . . . Valerie - yes, you can be dropped off at the Boscolo even if you are not on the extender. Everyone will have a choice whether to go to the airport or the Boscolo Plaza Hotel.

Yes, you can book the Eze\/Monte Carlo trip without being on the package. It will include a late afternoon trip to the village of Eze, dinner in Monte Carlo and time to visit some Casinos before coming home. I do not know the exact timing, but my assumption is that you will be getting back late at night. Even if you have an early morning flight, you have to make the time to see Monte Carlo! You can always sleep on the plane!

Now, for Valerie's questions about taxi's from the airport to the hotel . . .we will be sending more specific information on that, including the amount you should expect to pay to get to our host hotel and basic tips in your final documents. You will definitely want to have Euros to pay for your cab, and you can either get a few hundred dollars from your bank before you go, or buy them at the Paris airport.

Goodnight! Jill

My partner and I are so excited, we are doing it all.  Both extenders, we figured, who needs to try and figure out what to do and where, and we dont speak french, so its easy that way.  The only thing I want to know, is how do we get from the airport to the hotel, I find it a bit intimidating to "hail" a cab when i dont speak french, and do we pay them in euros or american money....is there some easy way we can do all of that........and that includes from  boscolo hotel as well.  we are arriving in Paris De Gaulle from newark........at 9:55 AM, if by chance, there are any other olivia gals out there who will be arriving around or about that time, perhaps we can do it together.

Jill your a gem thanks for the information, you answered many of my questions and now I dont have to bug Wendy too much.......Smilemaybe just a little !!

Hi, Jill,

Thanks for the additional information on the pre and post extenders!  We had a few questions about the post extender in Nice.  If we decide NOT to do the post extender, could we be dropped off at the Boscolo hotel from the ship?  Could we do the optional trip to Eze/Monte Carlo without signing up for the one night post extender?  Do you know approximately what time the trip to Eze/Monte Carlo will return at night to the Boscolo?  We have a very early morning flight the next day.  Thanks in advance for your response!  We are really looking forward to the trip and hope the Euro doesn't get any more expensive.  H&M

Hi everyone!

We hope by now you have received our long-awaited extenders for Paris and Nice.

Now, for those of you who are not on our pre/post package, it is VERY Important that you are giving yourself enough time to get to the host hotel in Paris (Le Meridien Montparnasse) to catch the transfer to the ship on July 1, which will be at approximately 9:00am. If your flight is arriving in the morning before 6am, you should be able to catch a taxi and get to the hotel in time, if your flight is not delayed! Otherwise we strongly encourage you to book your air to arrive into Paris and enjoy our two-night package so as not to risk any delayed flights. It will not be inexpensive to get to the ship by private car or taxi if you miss the group transfer from the hotel to the ship on July 1.

The exact time of the transfer will be confirmed in the final documents. What we have been told is that it will be sometime around 9am, but we will not have that finalized from the cruise company for another few months. This is exactly why we encourage you to give yourself piece of mind and come in at least one, preferably two nights on our package two days early, and spend a little time in Paris!  It really is a beautiful city. As you are aware, the Euro is sky high, and we were able to secure decent pricing for the Le Meridien Montparnasse Hotel. One cannot just "drive" through Paris from the airport in the same day!  Paris is the city of romance, beauty, great Pomme Frites and mussels, wines, shopping . . .  The included City tour will give you a nice overview of the city, and you will have free time to explore on your own. Perhaps you can visit the Eiffel Tower, the famous Louvre Museum and see the Mona Lisa or the Statue of Venus.  After just two nights you'll soon be planning your next trip to Paris. And if you can, join us on the optional dinner cruise for a gourmet 4-course meal as the boat takes you down the river Seine to view the "City of Lights" at night. It is truly an experience of a lifetime. Olivia takes a section of the boat for us, and this includes transportation to and from the boat, an English speaking guide, cruise, 4 course meal and time on the upper deck to enjoy the romantic views!

After the cruise, join us for an additional night in Nice. The Hotel Boscolo Plaza is wonderfully located across from the promenade/beach. Spend time in the quaint flower markets, have coffee in a cafĂ©, or enjoy the beach (bring your reef walkers as they are pebble-beaches!) Or join us on an optional adventure in the late afternoon of July 8 to the breath-taking views in the village of Eze, then drive to Monte Carlo for a typical French group dinner, and have free time to explore the world-famous casinos before returning back to the hotel. Our pricing for this hotel is reasonable, considering the price of the Euro, and we take care of just about everything for you once you get there. So please join us!

If you have friends that can join you, please have them sign up! We will not be offering this again in 2009. We do have some space still available.

See you all soon.

Jill

Hi, Sydny.  We are still waiting to hear about the pre and posts...hopefully this week.  We are going to spend 4 days in Paris this time.  We are flying in on Air France from Philadelphia the Thursday before the cruise and are hoping to hook up with Olivia for their 2 day pre.  We were in Paris with Olivia in 2006 for 3 days, but it wasn't enough time to see all the sights.  We also plan to go out to see the D-Day Beaches and American Cemetery in Normandy.  We are just going to spend one day in Nice afterward and again are hoping to hook up with Olivia for the post.  We were also there in 2006 with Olivia.  We will be flying out of Nice to Paris and then home.  France is a country which has way too much to see...this will be our third trip to Paris.  Hard to believe that it is almost 4 months until the trip.  We are excited!  H&M
