Ah, the Forum
08/16/2007, 8:03 PM

Well howdy gals!  Thought I would say hello and that I miss the Hordettes and all the others from the good ol Forum.  This site is a bit more hopping around, so here I am hopping in here to say hi.

Want to thank you Jeri!  You did a great job on the Hawaiian cruise, how you kept up with anyone is beyond me, esp. me, tee-hee.  Yes, I most certainly did get to know not only the Hordettes, but several other womyn aboard the ship, let alone the staff of Olivia and the staff on the NCL.  Everyone there made the trip a very memorable one, so thanks a million for a great time.

Next trip, Nuevo, Puerta Vallarta.  some of the Hordettes will be there, how about you Jeri?

Ok, take care and have a great day, gotta go-go!

When you go to my profile it does say unread posts in your groups but it does not say new posts. Almost all of those unread ones are from the old site and have already looked at. I would like a button to see recent "new" post in the groups; cause when you click on the ones you think are new, they are not new and then were forced to hit the back key once again to go back to my groups and start all over again... I hate this new site!!!

Well thanks valentineking.  The funny thing is I have been there before and wondered where the heck I'd seen it!  It would still be better to have that option on the main group page where your 'my groups' is listed without having to go into the 'my profile'.  But I'll see how it works out for me.

Is anyone having problems today when they hit 'post topic' ???? I've been booted out several times after composing a message!!!!!  I hope this one sticks....

if you go to 'my profile', under my groups click on 'view all'... that screen shows you if there are any new posts since you last checked in your groups.

Tech question

I think there is a site somewhere to post feedback for our queries regarding connect.  Anyway, I am posting it here as I can't recall where to send it....

I'm sure someone has already asked this, but can't we have an alert beside the group name that a new posting has been received?  We could do away with the 'created' date of the group as I'm not sure how important that is to us and instead add a 'last posting date' in it's place???  It saves us having to open up the group only to find no new postings!!!!

Hello, Everyone,

I have a new problem with this site which began last week.

When I'm through on the site, I "sign out" and the page then  shows that I need to "sign in" at the top.  So, I leave the site, thinking I am signed out...... BUT, when I come back the next day or the day or week after,  and go to the URL, I do not have to sign in......I am already signed in and welcomed back under my "southern gal" name.    I don't really like this.     I should need to sign back in when I return.

If anyone else sat down at my computer and happened to get to this site, no sign in would be required.    I do have friends who visit and grandchildren who like to play games on my computer, and I don't believe that this is a positive new development.

Are other people experiencing this, or is it unique to me or my computer?

Any thoughts, Jeri?

Thanks,

Faith

p.s.   I still hate the way you can not set the type font and type more than one paragraph without the default tiny awful font popping back up!!   Please, please change the default font size.    This has been requested since this site first appeared.

It's been SO quite in the Groups this week.  I think I hear crickets chirping!

Everyone must be out cruising?

When I logged in today and clicked on my groups, each one showed me how many posts there were that I hadn't read yet. That slves the problem of knowing whether there are new posts. And, I love the ability to type in different fonts.

Julie - I, too, am under disguise - it's actually Mary Hennessy here. Hi!

that doesn't really work either, I found myself answering questions or commenting on posts at both ends.  The reply doesn't reply to the right post.  I'm trying to adjust to this place.  Not at all happy with it.  Sorry.  I am really trying to embrace this new sight.  I have started groups and tried to feel connected with others here and it is cold and uninviting.  Not like the forum.  I  understand you are trying something new but why take away something that works.  If it's not broke...........

ok, never mind.  'Newest post on top' seems to be working fine now.

When I select the posts to show 'newest on top' it doesn't remember the setting for my next visit.  This would be a nice feature.
