I tried emailing Olivia folks on this very topic and kept getting, "I'm off on a trip you wish YOU were on!" messages, so I ended up sending an email to guestservices (at) olivia.com.  I got the auto-reply, but then I got the "real" reply within 24 hours, plus follow-ons.  Ms(Mr?) Olivia Guest Services was very helpful.

I wonder if most of the staff has been working on the 40th anniversary cruises the past 2 weeks.  I would definitely try again Monday. Hopefully you will get a response soon!

I've been trying to contact Olivia for two weeks to talk about a possible issue with our vacation.   We have sent four emails and have not gotten one reply from a person...only automated replies. A bit frustrating.

Magnificent,

Call Olivia and they will give you all the details.  I believe it was very reasonable when we considered it. The nice thing as others have said is that you get to settle down before the mad rush on Saturday. Also this will include the transfer from the airport, drinks and food. So when you calculate staying elsewhere, don't forget these hidden charges.  Unfortunately our 2 pooches will prevent us from joining everyone on Friday, but we will be absolutely ready for the party on Saturday.

I'm planning to fly in a day early as well but didn't know about the pre night with the resort. how much does it cost?

Coming from the west coast as well. So far the tickets are averaging $700.:-( Any tips on the best airline/best pricing?

woo woo for the pre bookers, I also did the same, what a diff. it makes and being shy it was a super bonus cause it wasn't so over whelming. And havin dinner with H, Rachel & Cj, Doreen ,Sleddog and a few more just made the whole settling it so easy.And your right Rachel the first week is gonna """rock""".

Flying in a day early will really help us get the most out of this vacation!  Lucky, I considered staying elsewhere for the pre-night but, for us, getting settled and not needing to move is actually worth the extra $.  

I wonder if there have been any bites for selling the trip?  The first week is going to ROCK!

That is what I did also.  I am leaving on the redeye on Thursday, and getting in Friday afternoon.

If I can I always go in a day early and buy a prenight, especially considering we are coming from the West Coast.

@ Rachel we are flying from the West Coast also but are opting to book a hotel near the airport it is only around $125 a night for the 2 of us. Just an idea if you wanted to save a few dollars.

We bought this trip back in March BUT You might have better luck posting this on the Punta Cana II connect board, as there will be people there who are actively considering buying the trip...An advantage (from my perspective) of the first week over the second week is that you can also purchase an extra pre-night at the resort...pretty much a must for us, since we are traveling from the West Coast and flights are either red-eyes or get in very late...Good luck!  Rachel
