Maria and I don't plan on missing Vicki or the white party! We will be going to town to see everything during the daytime. :)

And wasn't the 2nd going to be the 'unofficial' (or what I have thought of as the Guerilla) White Party.

So many things so little time!

Just found out that the 2nd is the nite that Vickie Shaw performs, show starts at 9 pm.  Just thought would let all know, in case you do not want to miss her performance.  Hummmmm...... may have to go during the day to see some of this.

This is something I have always wanted to see. I hope it's not considered disrespectable to the families there to go. I look at it as being able to view another culture's take on death, spirituality etc.  If something is planned, I think we are in!!

the graveyard display in Xcaret was great to see...i love the way they displayed it going up that hill

there is a real graveyard in PV that's very old & huge and is great to see on Dia de Los Muertos
they usually close down the street just north of the flee markets on Isla Cuale for the celebrations at night
and there is a parade that goes down the Malecon...all very festive!

haven't decided if we'll go into town or not yet...all depends on what's happening at the resort
but i can show or tell anyone where and how to get to these various things...it's all pretty easy!

Sleddog, sorry you got flack for that, can't imagine why someone would have a problem with it....

Maria and I definitely intend to go into town on either or both days to see the shrines and the events set up by the town. We visited Xcaret  the last time we were in Mexico, and were amazed by the representations of shrines from all over the region. We've looked up a bit of info online, and most people say just head into town, and to the city hall as well. Others suggest visiting a local cemetery to observe shrines set up by the family of the local citizens who have died.Honestly, I'm not sure about this. Seems like it might be a bit "gawky" to me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Lastly, I read that people sometimes bring candy for the kids in town. Kind of like trick or treating. Have you seen this at all?

Thanks a lot!
