We ended up booking the Extended Stay (right down the street from Embassy Suites on 17th)-so much cheaper (over $100)-and it has free airport and port shuttles. It doesn't have a lot of "stars" but trip adviser reviews are pretty good and we're arriving late so we will only have time to get there, shop for alcohol and sleep a few hours before we head to the ship in the morning! Gonna be a blast :) I would suggest staying at a nicer hotel if you're going to be there a long time in advance but since it's only one night for us we're not picky!
Cheers,
Pam and Amanda (aka Pamanda)
we're booked at the Best Western Plus Oakland Park Inn, too. If they drop the shuttle between now and then, we can probably share a ride to the port.
We'll see what happens as the time nears ... oh, so slowly!
My partner and I are driving from the condo in Sarasota where we are stating before and after the cruise. I AM A Cannuck and she is a Georgia gal. Anyway... I found a Rodeway Inn King Size room. This place offers a park and cruise package. We are paying $129.00 for the 2nd and we get free shuttle to the port departing and returning. They also have free airport pick up. The best part for us is that this price also includes the week parking while we will be on this cruise. It is not on the beach but it has a pool and we can drive anywhere we wish. I hope this helps. Check out Comfort.com for booking.
hi--we're looking for a cheap(er) hotel for pre-cruise that either has free shuttles (airport and cruise port) or is close enough to get a reasonable cab ride. Anyone have ideas? I did find one -- Best Western Plus Oakland Park Inn - supposedly free shuttle (but haven't confirmed yet). It's near the beach but further north. The host hotels are near the port but not the beaches...
thanks!
