Thanks.  We've been on one other cruise, and it was Holland America.  We ended up booking our own snorkel trip which worked out about half the price and was a much smaller group.  So I'll probably do the same for this one, though it would be fun to do a large trip with a whole bunch of women.  I did contact the best rated snorkel trip on Tripadvisor (snorkel Bob) but he said he's already fully booked for that day.  It looks like there are several other outfits who do shorter snorkel trips.  The snorkel trip I did at Turks and Caicos was one of the highlights of the cruise.

How do we book trips through the cruise line?  I didn't see any links on Olivia to that.

We're water lovers so we asked for five hours!  You can be sure that there will be shorter snorkel excursions available through the cruise line.  We've done those before, too, and they're always a fun, party atmosphere.   I've booked Tranquilo and will be back on the boards in a month or so to open it up for others to join us.  In the meantime, if you are interested feel free to send me an email at dlwilliams35@comcast.net.

uh oh...snorkeling with the 3 Barbs!?!

That is my only concern as well.  5 hours is a long time in a sailboat for some of us, but I don't want to just have an hour to snorkel either.  There are 3 of us interested in a snorkel excursion.  I'll see if I can find an alternative as well.

I love doing snorkeling and it was one of the highlights of the last cruise I took.  However, for me personally, 5 hours is too long and exhausting.   I did a snorkel trip with a small company (not in Aruba) and though it was meant to be 4 hours but we all agreed that after 3 hours we all felt like it was plenty and returned to shore.  Can you give me info about the company so that I could see if they do shorter trips and perhaps arrange one for those who'd prefer a shorter trip?  Thanks so much! The company I have been in contact with is El Tranquilo (www.eltranquiloaruba.com). We're pencilled in for a charter on Thur, Feb 7, and would meet the boat at 9:50 am at their dock.  We'd like to go out for five hours -- an hour or so of sailing each way, then hours of sunning and snorkeling -- paradise!
