Yep, that's where we tracked the ship down last spring! This time we intend to a. fly into PV a day early and b. be at the resort! Looking forward to seeing our old friends from past trips-looks like quite a few of you will be there.

I just booked my flight from Reno with a stop in Phoenix on US Airways.  Got a great deal on tickets since my daughter works for the airlines.

We fly Alaskan and also live in Seattle.  We've flown American and got dirty seats and sticky trays and windows both times.  Gross!  Fremonster - look forward to seeing you two in PV since we haven't been able to meet up in our own city yet!  Crazy schedules require time off for vacation!

Fremontster, I totally agree, resorts are the way to go.

Yep, Lynn and I will be there all right! Less cruises, more resorts-- even though the electronic seasickness band did work perfectly, she prefers being able to dip toes into oceans on her schedule and not the ship's.

Thanks a bunch, Ladies! I feel a lot better hearing from actual people I "know" and know. I feel comfortable booking with Alaska now.

Freemonster, are you and your lovely going to be on this trip? Please say yes! :-D

I am an Alaska Airlines very frequent flyer- Seattle, where I live, is their home base and I preferentially take them when I can. Their planes are all 737s, much of the fleet has been updated to 737/800-900 series, which have more room in coach class. Flight crews are friendly, the airline recycles.

Food is, well, airline food. I personally buy something great to eat at the airport or the local organic grocery and bring it with me, as even first class/business class food mostly sucks these days. But for good service and mostly on-time flights (this, of course, excepts the day that six of us, including Grethe Cammermeyer and her partner, were all stuck in Seattle trying to get to the Mexican Riviera cruise last March because the entire system computer was down- but that was the exception to the usual for us), Alaska ranks high for me. I occasionally still fly the former Northwest (now Delta), or American, because of destinations to which Alaska doesn't fly, and am always impressed by how well Alaska stacks up. And oh yeah, they have a very strong LGBT friendly diversity program, at least here in Seattle at their home office.

we've flown Alaska Airlines to Seattle, to Anchorage and to Hawaii...both coach and first

can only say that the planes were in good shape and we had excellent service...no complaints

guess it just depends on what flight crew you get

Airline choices and reviews?

We're flying in from LAX and would like to take a direct flight if we can. Alaska Airlines has a direct flight with a decent fair and we'd like to go that route. Only problem is, they do not get good reviews for their service in general or for First Class, which is what we are hoping to book.

Does anyone have any experience with Alaska?
