Hi Thanks for the info on the day trip - we just made a booking and booked it through www.viator.com

We also used the code vr5Summer and got another 5% off.  $194 for 2 adults.

Hope some of you will join us.

I was think about storing my luggage at the airport but that defeated the drop off at the dock. I asked if they had room for my one bag and was told I could bring it along.

I don't know how many are trying to find something to do during the time the flight arrives and the time we are allowed to board the ship.

In all my inquires about organized thing's to due during the day this was the only day tour I was able to find..

Thank you for the information, do you know if a lot of people are looking for something to do that day?  So far my partner and I have not decided what we are going to do for the 8-10 hours we have.  Aside from storing our luggage at the airport we are unsure as to what to do next.  I have heard Patricks is a great company for tours as well but do not know what their prices would be versus just wandering around the shops at Papeete and I am sure running into more ladies of Olivia.  If anyone else has ideas I would love any suggestions.

Looking forward to this trip and time in the sun!!

If anyone either arriving on Olivia's group flight on the 22ed or just want something to do before we can board the ship theres a Inner Island Full Day Jeep Safari tour. The tour operator will pick you up from your hotel for those of you already in Tahiti. For those of us arriving on the 22ed they wont pick up from the airportCrying but for a minimal cab fair to the closet hotel (Intercontinental) they do have a 8 am pick up. When the tour is finished they drop off at the port..

The price changes from time to time $100 plus or minus $15. The web site where you can book is http://www.viator.com/tours/Tahiti/Papeete-Inner-Island-Full-Day-Jeep-Safari/d25-2830TMTNJEEPC

Hello TJ, you've chosen the best if you want to dive by going to rangiroa you'll love it. And the hilton moorea is a wow for sunsets ! In moorea you can also take a day tour to feed the rays in the lagoon and have a pick nick on the motu :)

Evergreen, manava suite resort is a great hotel and if you don't want to eat at the restaurant there is always the roulottes :) theses are the local vehicles transformed into night time restaurants where you can get anything from chinese to pizza to local food :) there's one that settles around 5:30 PM at the little store up the road and that has great steaks and fish specialties and there are a few yards farther some more that come at the MARINA APOOITI every evenings with chinese, or italian or others :) ask the front desk they'll know about it.

You'll get great food for less than 20 $ :)

Hi All

We have made the following plans for our time before and after the cruise - We are greedy and want to spend as much time as possible in Tahiti.

Fly from Sydney to Papeete on Sunday 16th Sept.

5 nights at Rangiroa staying at http://www.raira-lagon.pf/ in a ocean bungalow.

The diving is amazing and we are hoping to dive with dolphins, sharks of all type and size and 1000's of colourful fish.

Back to Papeete for a night then onto the PG Cruise.

5 nights at Hilton Moorea in an overwater bungalow - http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/PPTMLHI-Hilton-Moorea-Lagoon-Resort-and-Spa/index.do

Back to Papeete for a night.  Before we fly home to Sydney arriving back on Sunday 7th October late in the afternoon before going back to work on Monday 8th October to show off our tans!

Looking forward to hearing about other plans that fellow travellers are making.

Hmmm, I posted info this morning on here and it disappeared into cyberspace!!!

Teresa & Julie, we are staying for 3 nights before the cruise at the Manava Suite Resort Hotel. It's on the water and it's close to the airport and the port in Papeete.http://www.spmhotels.com/resort

We got a lagoon front suite for $223 US/Canadian per night. It's got a kitchenette. There is a little supermarket just up the street and local places to eat. There is also  restaurant at the hotel but I understand it's very expensive.

If you are interested try booking it on-line. That's where we got our good price, on Expedia.

There are lots of good writeups for this hotel on TripAdvisor.

Here is the info on the hotel. http://www.spmhotels.com/resort

See you in September!

Julie
