Love the tips; keep the coming.  Rhonda and I took our first Olivia trip in January to Ixtapa.  We had the best time of our whole lives!  We wish we could go on every Olivia trip.  Looking forward to Columbus Isle!  Woohoo!

The Alhambra is a great little hotel, and most everything is in walking distance.

We were lucky enough to get a flight back to Chicago on the 23rd, but it leaves at 8 pm.

Looking forward to meeting you.

I look at the resort.  Looks wonderful, Im hoping we can get a room there too.  I sent  in the request so we will see.  We may have to stay an extra day after the resort too.  I dont think we can get a a flight out late enough , most are too early.

A few of us will be staying at the Alhambra Beach Resort  in FLL.  It is a cute place - gay owned, but it is very small.  It is a short walk to shops and restaurants, and it is across the street from the beach.  We will be arriving on the 14th.

Hi Steph,

Thanks for the tips.  We will add them to our list.  If you think of any more just post them.

We are considering coming a day early to Ft. Lauderdale to insure the we make our connection to the island,

Any suggestions for hotels?

Melvina and Stephanie:

Let's see, suggestions for this resort:

- Lots of waterproof sunscreen

- SUNGLASSES!

- A beach bag

- Comfortable Teva's or other beach shoes (the resort is big and there is a lot of walking)

- A hat

- If you like to snorkel and have gear, bring it.  The resort boat goes out several times a day and it is wonderful!  If you don't have gear, they have loaners for you!

- A small camera that you can take down to the beach or on the boat if you snorkel.  This place is so beautiful.  you will take tons of pics

- Some good books and your I-pod

- Pre-print your names and contact info r bring business cards.  You will meet so many wonderful women that you want to stay in touch with.  This will save you time and having to write your name over and over again.

Welcome to Olivia!  You will not be dissapointed!  Here is one small suggestion - it is very hot there, and all drinks are served in light plastic cups.  Whatever you are drinking (soda, beer, cocktail) will be lukewarm within minutes.  So....bring an insulated drink cup and you will be all set.  As far as packing, this is a very very casual resort, so you won't need much as far as clothing.  Jean shorts and t-shirts are fine at night, unless you want to dress up - some women do that as well.  I'm sure others will have suggestions for you in the upcoming months....

We are new to Olivia’s Playground and looking forward to meeting some amazing ladies and building bonds.

We just booked our first trip: Columbus Isle, Bahamas (Fall 2010).

While browsing some reviews on the internet, we discovered that we should pack some bug spray/repellant, e.g., Deet. Anything else we need to bring along?

What made your trip special?

Let’s talk. . .!
