Well 2 pools is definitely better than 1 LOL.  Im still tossing it all around.  I hope you enjoy your cruise Randi, that looks like it will be lots and lots of fun.

Actually…if you look at the deck map on the Pool Deck http://www.olivia.com/Travel/tripdetails/deckmaps/sun/pool.aspx you'll see that there are two pools and 4 hot tubs.  Plus on the Sports Deck there is 'Splashes Kids Pool' and another hot tub.

Hey Teresa,

Yes, I  remember that the weather on the Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Westerdam March 2009 was not great Storm Lightning. Check out the photos in my profile from that cruise, especially the one of Mickey in the beautiful Trunk Bay Beach at St John in the pouring rain, or the rough waters we had to sail in.  Remember when the Captain actually told us we were in the Bermuda Triangle, Vicki Shaw referred to it as a Hurricane in the Bermuda Triangle Ick!

We had cloudy weather at Turks during the first week in Nov, but I made it to the beach everyday Big Smile I think it only rained overnight and early in the AM. The worst of the hurricanes usually is over by early Oct.

We Olivia gals always make the best of each Olivia trip regardless of the weather, ports, resort or ship because it is the most freeing, accepting enviornment and I miss it the second we head to the airport.

I don't think we can bank on good or bad weather for either Nov or March, but we had a great time at both Turks and on the Westerdamsel.

We will be going on the Ryndam in 8 weeks on the Western Caribbean Cruise. This cruise has 4 ports, but the cabins are smaller for same $$ and there is only one speciality restaurant. You can book a much larger room on the SUN than on a HAL cruise for the same $$. Mickey and I enjoyed our Veranda on the Westerdam and had to book a cabin of the Ryndam with a smaller room and verandah because the next room up was just way too much $$.  That is not the case on the Sun. The top of the line suites are far more reasonable as well as those inside staterooms starting at a great value. So from a $$ point a view, there is something on the SUN for everyone.

I hope to see you on another Olivia trip. I am hoping Mickey can get the week off and try a trip on the NCL SUN.

Hi Randi,

We were on the cruise with you guys a year ago.  My only problem with this cruise is the time of year, Im worried about hurricane weather.  As you recall we didn't have great weather the last time and I was really hoping to do a western caribb cruise but it didn't work out.  I also am concerned with the size of the ship and that I can only see 1 pool??? I checked the website too but I still only see one.  That cant be the case, can it.  HAL had 2 and they were always full, full, full and considering we are spending so much more time on the ship with less ports...we are also considering a resort.

So many decisions lol

Hi,

I am waiting to hear from Mickey's work (hopefully on Mon) that she is cleared to have the week of this trip off Time

We are looking to join you on the NCL Sun. I like the idea of the variety of restaurants as opposed to the one specialty restaurant on HAL.

Sushi, Habachi, Steakhouse, French Bistro, Italian  are great choices.

I am cool with the private Island, as Half Moon Cay is great.  I remember how the natives were so horrible to the families arriving in Nassau on the Rosie Cruise (HBO special). Why go where we are not wanted? We should spend our $$ in places that want us to visit.

I am looking forward to St Maartin as I have never been there before Paradise

My only real cons for this cruise would be the short time at St Thomas port as this is my favorite Port and we love to take the ferry to St John. Probably have to stay on St Thomas to be back to ship by 3PM. The other con would be the long 40 minutes to the port from the airport Travel.  Tampa and Ft Laurdardale have Ports closer to the airports. To shape this into a pro, maybe a few couples can get together and book a stretch limo from the host hotel and turn the 40 minutes into a party Drinks

Will let you know when Mickey gives me the Yes
