We used to ride & camp in the back side of the Tetons for a week at a time.

And when I lived in Arizona I had a grey mare who was half Arabian / half Morgan…she was so sweet I named her Sugar!

As far as snorkeling goes…you don’t need to get certified…that’s scuba diving. 

Last year they offered a snorkeling excursion and supplied you with all the snorkeling gear if you didn’t have your own.  And if you have your own gear you can take a water taxi over to Ixtapa island and snorkel there also.

Equiger, K.C. is now a member on this thread so you can find her profile if you check again.  She is also into paint and quarter horses, has several she raises for reining and trains outside horses for others. 

 Sorry, I don't have any answers about the snorkeling license.  I'm sure there are others on here that have information about that.  I have only snorkeled once and thqt was in Columbus Isle last year.  It was awesome, but I am very much a novice.

Hi Mawann!    I couldnt find KC's profile but you both sound wonderful.   Cant wait to meet everyone too!     I would love to do a horseback excursion but I am sure I wont be too disappointed with the other choices.   I will admit I have not even attempted most of them so there will be many firsts for me!   This is prob. the wrong place to post this but does anyone know if you need to pay extra to do the snorkeling license to just do a basic snorkeling?     I  assume there is not enough time to go out into a deeper/more involved tour in the time it takes newbies like me to get a license-or how much more time is required for the other related excursions?  Or even if a license is the right word!   Will it be a certificate you can use in the US also?

Hi, Equiger!  Glad you posted on here and looking forward to meeting up with you in Ixtapa.  I guarantee you will love Olivia and become as addicted as we have.  My spouse, K.C. (check out her profile under mytiger) is definitely an equine person.  She works with horses for a living and would love to do a horseback riding excursion in Ixtapa.

I am finally joining in the chatter before the big trip.        This will be my first olivia anything and I will be in the fun and flirty solo division!   I would love to do the dolphin swim for sure as well as scuba and horseback riding!    Just wanted to start wading in here and introducing myself!

Have not gone on the site for a while but came across this question and it did not seem anyone had swam with the dolphins last year.  I had the pleasure and it was magical. 

The one I went on was with a goup that was split up into two and about 6 people per group and two dolphins per group so you have to wait your turn to play with them but its fun watching the others play. I dont want to give the experince away but my partner who swam with dophins in Cancun said the Ixtapa's experience allowed you to have more contact with the dolphins.

I would say absolutley do it.

The only thing that was disappointing was that they are not "free" dolphins that come into a secluded area of the bay to play, rather they are dolphins who were trained at a very young age (I beleive they are rescued) and are always watching their trainer for ques.

Sled I was joking with ya about a gift.  I was just really interested in the swimming with the dolphins with the 1 on 1 option.  But hey, you keep thinking of those gifts if you want.....hummmmmm Cancun would be so kind of you and Azar.....LOL.  I too can not wait to go back to Ixtapa.  I will be wonderful to see those who I have missed who will be returning and I know my sweets will be happy to see it too.  We both can not wait and I really look forward to meeting all the new people we have been pumping up this trip to.  I know I have been running my mouth about how wonderful Ixtapa was last time since the day I left.  Thanks S&S for the advice.  It was great to meet you and spend a little time with you.  We look forward to spending more time with you in January.  Ok ladies....Let's get this party started !!!!!!!!

Katch…when Azar did 'it' (many years ago) it was the 1st time that Vallarta Adventures started their 'trainer for a day' program.  We know the peeps there and Azar was their ginny pig for forming their program.

So…I'll have to think of what else to give you as a special gift…thinking

It will be great to see all those returning for the Ixtapa reunion…and everyone coming for the 1st time!

Hi Katch, I just went to the Club Med site in Ixtapa and they have 45 minute 1x1 dolphin excursions and then extra time after with all. They will have their excursions in the lobby like they had in PVR.  It'll be good to see you and your wife again.

Have ya'll done the one in Ixtapa?  If not, heard anything about it?  Not sure if I'll have the same appeal as Azar though.  They probably pick up her special healing aura.
