i too will be on my 3rd Olivia trip.   I will only know one person on this boat, and she is bringing her girlfriend...so I'm solo and mostly all by myself, but I'm not worried...have been on enough Olivia trips to know that you are never "alone" on these vacations.

 The solos program is fantastic.   This is a fairly small ship from what I gather, unless I am mistaken...so there might not be as many of us solos going as there would be on the Carribean cruises.  

 I'm also going solo to Cancun in May of this year.   I am meeting 3 friends there, but still solo for excursions and any other solo activities that might come up.

A friend told me about this trip because she's doing it for her 50th birthday.  I have another friend going along as my roommate, but I am traveling as a single person and would like to meet more friends.  My profile tells a little about me, which explains why I am especially interested in meeting women who want to take dance lessons on the ship.  I do either lead or follow:  I'm "bi-dancual" as it is called in gay square dancing.  This is my first Olivia cruise, and I'm looking forward to it.

In addition, I want to go to maybe Athens or Istanbul about 10-14 days early and do a self-guided tour spending two or so days each on about 5 of the islands.  (It depends on which islands I and someone else would want to go to.)  I'm thinking of just a slow, photographic tour to really get the feel of the islands, the culture, the people.  I've always dreamed of going to the Greek Isles and been pulled there, but would like to have more time on some islands (including Lesbos) than just the cruise itself provides but don't have a traveling "mate/s" . Then I'll be going on to the pre-tour of Istanbul and meeting my ship travel roommate there.  I also would be open to a post-tour.  So if anyone is interested in doing something like this, please contact me.

I'll probably be arriving a few days earlier too. Will be travelling from Saudi. Some friends here have travelled to Instanbul and found it amazing. I'm going to try and get a short trip in before the cruise. I've never done an Olivia cruise either and am so looking forward to it.

I’m traveling solo too and this is my first trip with Olivia.  I bought Rick Steves’ DVD that includes the ports of call for the trip and his books on Istanbul and Athens. There is much to see in Istanbul that I am landing in Istanbul on September 27^thand am staying a couple of extra days in Athens too.    I’ve heard from friends who have traveled to Istanbul that that taking a cruise up the Bosphorus Strait is a must, a Turkish bath is an amazing experience, and then there is the Topkapi Palace and the harem! Who can pass that up? Are there other Olivia solo travelers, or couples, who plan on arriving early?

This is amazing. Always wanted to see the Greek Islands and what better way to do it than in style with a whole lot of other gay women. Will be travelling on my own also. Have never done an Olivia cruise but am so looking forward to it. hope I get to know a few of you before we cruise.

Yes solo for Greece and also for Cancun in May.  I am looking forward to meeting and networking with other solos and of course my other coupled sisters too, however I will most likely do the solos circuit on these two trips like I did my last two trips. 

 So far I'm going every 6 months, I hope that I can continue this tradition as Olivia is the BEST way to travel.

As I have posted earlier on the Pre trip topic I am traveling solo... and would like to book the pre package in Istanbul and share the expense of the room with someone. I do however think I will opt out on the Hilton in Athens, and will try to look into other options... so if anyone is interested in sharing the expense of the Istanbul adventure please let me know... Yes, I'm also a solo and so looking forward to Turkey & Greece. We are more than welcome in both places for all the prosperity we have brought to these places when we land and spend our money$$$$ . 

Alaska was my first cruise this Sept. and I'm going with Olivia to Puerto Vallarto this NOV. I'm going to try to keep it to 1 28" bag and one carry-on. I had way too much for Alaska.  And if I roll my clothes I'll have more room. There is laundry and dry cleaning on board. Not sure what kind of clothes but I'm sure Sleddog will post a list by next summer.

I'll join the newbie list as well. First Olivia and only 2nd cruise in my life. Turning 40 and planning to have a FABULOUS time visiting a place that's been on my list of must sees for a long time. Looking forward to meeting new folks and sharing some wonderful experiences.

I'm also a "newbie", and just reserved my first; The Greek Isles, which is also a dream of mine.

A friend of mine reminded me about Olivia...and it had been at least 15years since I looked at an Olivia cruise; so didn't want another 15 to go by to do it!

Alaska was a blast! Still haven't fully unpacked,but I'm ready for Greece. It's something to look forward to for the next year. I hope in the meantime, that I will meet more "Solos" before the trip . . .  soooooo, say hello, ladies!

Hi Doc, and all you other Olivians!  "If all goes well" you say Doc, let me tell you, it will be the first of many many trips, It will be FABULOUS.  A trip you will NEVER forget!!!  Welcome aboard the Olivia train.   There are many many trips that Olivia is doing before Greece, if you can wing it, you should see if you can take a trip before that to acclimate just what your in for when you go to Greece!!  We welcome you with open arms!!  I get so excited about newbies, just to see the joy on their face when they enter a resort or board a ship, its a different world, surreal and all ours!  hugs, val
