Hi Katch,

Go ahead and use my words to Olivia if it helps you.  I never pressed the issue since I did not want to tell their IT what to do since they are busy enough with all the wonderful tour that they organize.  That said, it would be nice that I wouldn't have to change browser to send email to other and for some of the replies too.

Dear Nicole,

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me.  I am starting to feel much better knowing that there are others out there that deal with this.  Do you mind, if I include this information in an email to Olivia, since I am sure I will have to go through Guest Services first and I am sure once they hear what you have said and that you have the type career that you do, hopefully they will automatically put me right through to IT.  Thank you Thank you Thank you.  Would you please ask to be a friend of mine?  I think I can still accept friend requests (but we shall see)-that way I can hopefully let you know the status of what I find out- or you have my email address from listing above if you would like to go that route.  Thank you so much.  You may be the beginning to getting this problem solved for about 15 people so far that have contacted me via e-mail.  I hope you had a great Holiday Season and Happy New Year to you!!!!!

Yes, I am aware of the problem.  The problem lies in the browser of the MAC.  It does not matter which MAC product you have.  If you are using the Safari browser on your MAC, you will experience problem with certain websites.  It is not just the Olivia website that is the problem, but it could have been alleviated if the site would have been tested with multiple browser in mind.  That said, it is has much of the problem of compatibility from Apple as it is from from sites that are being hosted.

Yes, I am an IT person at a major centre in Vancouver Canada, and have ran into this problem with my MAC.  The other way around this would be for your to download FireFox 3.0.5 at this address http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

This solution is only a bandaid  and not a problem solver.  Although you will be able to do all the thing you would like to do that you may not be able to do with Safari on your MAC for the time being.  It is still a good idea to let Olivia know and to also let Apple support know of the issue.

Hello my dear ladies of the BIG "O"!!!!!!!!!!  I have missed you, but I have been here, but here is the reason why I cannot respond to you because many times when I write something a message will come into my inbox and I can not reply back to you...I really hate this because I really want to make friends on the Blog because that makes the trips that much more incredible when we all get together on our trip of a lifetime....

Here is a more in-depth explanation for my Topic title and the situation I am dealing with.  I do know of at least one other Olivia Connect member who is dealing with the same situation and I am hoping to find out if there are any others before I take it to Olivia Guest Services and/or IT... 

Katch here. No I haven't been MIA. I can only respond to the Blog/Trip Group.

I can't reply/respond to any of the messages that I receive. I cant ask for a friend request.

I can't compose/write a message to anyone because that would include the act of SENDing

and it always says I have to fill in the message areas, etc. Please note that these issues are

taking place on Apple iMac's and Apple PowerBook Pro Notebooks. If anyone is having

this problem, or if you have any suggestions, I would be so thankful. I have spoken briefly

with Olivia about it and they said the first step is Guest Services and if they can't solve it,

then IT will get on top of it. I really hope to get a list of those who have this same problem

to let Olivia know how many people are not able to be a part of one of the greatest parts of

Olivia. I am in the creative artist field and I know there are so many other ladies of Olivia

who are also in the Creative field and I feel sure they too are on Apple computers. I would

really appreciate your time and help and I know in the end, Olivia will too. In the meantime,
