Hi,

We met briefly on the ship. We were the ones that spent time with Leanne and Jenn also. It is too bad they won't be joining us on this adventure too.

Sarah and I are going to fly out early to Toronto, take in the sites ( I grew up there) travel to Nova Scotia then back up to Montreal. We were going to fly back from Boston, but maybe the train would be an option. We will look into it, good suggestion.

Do you go to any events in Victoria at all..surprised we have never seen you out and about the community.

Abbi and I would absolutely love to do a train ride with you guys again! Definitely keep me posted... I have been looking at some from here (Buffalo) to Montreal - but I like the idea of going up to Toronto and heading that way from there even more! So we can meet you guys there - although, if you are talking about the glass roof train - maybe we will fly to Vancouver, and take the train cross country with you!

Hey ~ just in case anyone didn't know already - just 379 days to go!!!

Ohh, the train, never thought about that.....we could take the train out of Windsor Ontario, as it'll take about 12 hrs. My son took that same route a few yrs ago. I've only taken the train as far as Toronto...this could be a very new adventure!!! Then we could fly back to Detroit from Boston!!

Somewhat tricky to arrange. Transfer required in Toronto for the next leg to Montreal. We will be going some days early as we will be visiting family in Cornwall/Ottawa beforehand. We are also exploring taking a train across the US for our return but also want to visit friends in Nova Scotia before that. Good thing that we have so much time to imagine and ponder!

Part of our decision to do Montreal to Boston was the opportunity to take the Via Rail train (don't like flying). We are looking at a cabin for two, Sleeper Plus Class: http://www.viarail.ca/en/trains/rockies-and-pacific/toronto-vancouver-canadian/classes-and-trains-cars

Departs from Vancouver Tues, Fri, & Sun - ship departs on a Saturday and takes 4 days. Senior rate for cabin for two meals included starts at $1450/person.

The neat thing for me is that it would follow in reverse my grandmother's family trip by train across Canada from Grosse Ile in 1902, although in much more comfort :).

A group of us are looking at the train that goes across from Vancouver to Toronto...then Toronto to Montreal

Still looking at all the details...will let you all know what comes of it all!

Alaska was my first Olivia cruise and was thoroughly enjoyable........thinking about signing up for this Montreal to Boston trip as something to look forward to .....as well as seeing some familiar faces. Although a few of us came home with 'a bug or two', hope everyone is recouperating well.......tis something that seems to go with travel at times.

Hope you're feeling better, T & S.......have been through something similar.
