Alaska was my first Olivia cruise and was thoroughly enjoyable........thinking about signing up for this Montreal to Boston trip as something to look forward to .....as well as seeing some familiar faces. Although a few of us came home with 'a bug or two', hope everyone is recouperating well.......tis something that seems to go with travel at times.

Hope you're feeling better, T & S.......have been through something similar.

The start of this trip will be significant for me as we will be sailing by Grosse-Île, Quebec (east of Quebec City), which is the earliest landing of my family in Canada in May 1902. My grandmother was 6 years old when all of steerage aboard their ship were quarantined for 2 weeks on this island in the St. Lawrence because one passenger was discovered with small pox. She along with her two younger sisters, younger twin brothers and parents were on their way to Calgary, then part of the Northwest Territory, from Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Their time on this island of graves formed early and profound memories for the young girls and I am very happy to have the opportunity to sail past.

I have been to Montreal but the rest of the cruise ports will be new and exciting!

Phew!!!

Thank goodness I booked this one on the Alaska cruise and thank goodness this Connect Group got started!!! I was beginning to have "Olivia Vacation" and "Connect Group" withdrawal symptoms!! You know...checking the Olivia site every few hours for something new...re-reading the previous Connect Group topics...waking up in the middle of the night wondering if I packed everything I need...wondering if we'll have good weather...oh, noooooooo, not the weather!!!!

Well, just a quick "hello" to everyone! We booked this cruise(our first ever) today, and are really excited. We are off to the PV Mexico resort in about three weeks, and thought it best to book now while we still had a good choice of stateroom. Can't wait to meet some new folks in Puerto Vallarta! :)
