Are they going to have a post-vacation stretcher also? Have to save all my penny's up to pay for the stretcher's as I used all my quarters, dimes and nickles on the payment on just the trip...

Thanks for the info Jana. Can't remember but is the Anne Frank house tour part of the actual trip? Or is it extra (additional expense) like I believe it is??

I'm just soooo glad that everything came together and Olivia was able to find a room on the boat for me...

the Olivia group will get in without having to stand in line...but the crowds will still be there

the Anne Frank House is always crowded...but well worth seeing/experiencing!!!

From what I understand and if I remember correctly there will be a optional tour of the Anne Frank house and Olivia gets in without the lines and crowds. Also that is one of the many reasons I'm going as that part/time in history is very interesting to me.

I was in Amsterdam this past April, and saw the Anne Frank house. If you're interested in history at all, you should see it. A few words of advice: buy your ticket online ahead of time. Go either early in the day or towards closing time, unless you really like standing in line for a very long time. Be prepared for crowds, regardless of when you go. The number of people going through tainted the experience for me a bit, since it's difficult to get a sense of the place with 40 people shuffling through each room with you. Still, I'm glad I did it.

Amsterdam is a lovely city; I've been there twice and enjoy it very much. I haven't signed up for this cruise, but I am thinking about it, mostly because it goes through the Alsace region, which is where my great-great-grandparents came from.

I made the commitment and booked this trip.. Looks like I got lucky as I was able to get a solo spot due to someone canceling and leaving the other person in the room by themselves.. Guess it was meant to be that I get to go with having that one room open for a me...

Guess my 2013 schedule is now full wonder whats going to offered in 2014... I should probably wait until next year before I even think about 2014...

Whats grabbed me on this trip is the history in that part of the world in conjunction with WW2. It's one of the areas that intrigued me throughout school and made history one of my favorite subjects. The big selling point for me is that I was told there's a opportunity to tour the house where Anne Frank lived/hid through WW2. Never been big on just "sightseeing" but with the history of the area and being able to learn about it makes it more then just sightseeing for me.

Right now there is one room with another solo but as I can't book until I'm on the Costa Rica trip and I don't know if it will still be available then and with most everyone gone for the holidays I couldn't find out if there will be more then the one room I know about.. Hint, hint for anyone who has any info for solo's.... So if theres still a room avalible I'll find out if I like riverboats also...

we are booked and going! this would only be our 2nd riverboat trip...we thought we'd be bored on the 1st one...far from it!

lots of sight-seeing...history of the area type stuff...but at the same time a relaxing cruise on the river...all in the company of great women...but with Olivia that's a given!

we've been to Amsterdam 3 times...the last being the riverboat trip...but this trip down thru Germany looks great!

don't know how else to describe it all...except to try it at least once in one's lifetime

but what can i say...we love big ship cruises...small ship cruises...resorts...and riverboats too!!!

I guess thats a better excuse then me hitting the wrong key... I used my iPhone on the original post and when I next picked up my cell my hand hit the screen and deleted my post. Didn't realize what had happened until I went back on this site..

So back to the reason for my post.. What can you or anyone else tell me about this trip thats not covered in the Olivia info?? I haven't been on any trips like this one and want to make sure I know what to expect. From reading what I have it sounds like something I'd enjoy. I'm asking as I canceled Cancun as the resorts just aren't my thing (found that out in Punta Cana) and I want to make as sure as possible that this type of trip is more to my liking. So any info would go a long way in helping me when I book this trip next month. Hopefully there will be room for a solo on the boat..

And sense you happen to be in this group does that mean you and Azar will also be going?

Oops hit the wrong key and my question went away.

So to make the question shorter then it originally was tell me all you know about this trip? Is it sight seeing and learning about the history of the areas visited etc..?

As I said I'm going to be a fish out of water as all my other trips have been in tropical places.
