never been to either place...but have been to plenty of places that do have a lot of mosquitoes...brought bug spray but hardly have ever had to use it!

in case anyone one is worried...here's a map from the CDC http://www.healthmap.org/dengue/index.php even the USA seems to have a giant marker in her

been to a lot of places that are marked...never had an issue!!

we're going to the beach to swim and snorkel and have a great time!!!

Thanks LezBn!!! I've never been to Curacao or Aruba, so your perspective is good to have! Only been to the Caribbean 3 times and never had to use the bug spray I brought with me! Me thinks some people just like to share their fears...me, I'd rather think about all the awesome fun we're gonna have and all the new friends we're gonna make! Only 49 more days till we board that beautiful ship!!!

We have been to Curacao and Aruba many times and don't see the need for anything more than maybe some bug spray.

The ship stops there for such a short amount of time - so why send out the worry alarm? We should be fine!

Mosquitoes can also be problematic in Curaçao, and cases of dengue fever have been reported. When mosquitoes are apparent on the island, travelers are strongly advised to wear long sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes, and hats, and to also use an insect repellent containing DEET.

Not sure if it is mosquitoe season!
