Thanks everyone for all the great ideas! I can't wait to take my wife on her first cruise ever! I've been on cruises before, but never an Olivia cruise, so this will be a treat! Plus it's our honeymoon!

I often travel with just a carryon and I have to keep within TSA limits. I carry a small package of disinfectant wipes for plane seat armrests and tray tables. When I'm in a hotel, I'll use one upon my arrival to wipe the remote control, various door knobs and surfaces etc.

night light, locker tpye post its for messages on other or new friends doors. pre adressed labls to your freinds and fam you may want to send post ards to. and your return lables to make all sending faster. travel type foldable hangers... you can never have enough. potty spray. binoculars, a collaspable bag to carry home our treasures you buy, water shoes for beach and adventures, tennis shoes get tooooo heavy....

Abbi...that is copied and pasted from the Holland America site...I am guessing that it means pick and delivery of the laundry...and I know they off shoe shinning too!!
I don't think it means they'll park your car

Full laundry and valet services are available on all ships.

Self-service laundry rooms are on ships…EXCEPT…the ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Eurodam, ms Noordam, ms Oosterdam, ms Westerdam and ms Zuiderdam.

So the good news is…you can vacation hardily and leave the laundry to someone else

there is self serve laundry on the ship.....just in case you want to "do" your own.

If this is your first cruise, as you pack lay things out you want to take them take half of what you what to pack. Olivia cruises are very relaxed. You can get decked out for formal night tuxs and dresses or wear jeans. It all depends on what you what to do. We bring one nice outfit and dress caual other nights, ir jeans and a polo top. That's the gift a Olivia who you are is who you are. Some people dress up for the theme nights others just come as is. People do tend to over pack the first time I know we did.

Sleddog will usually post a packing list things like power strips you don't think about packing.

OMG Sassymom, even though we only know each other via Facebook, (or were we in an AJ workshop together?) you are my first friend on this cruise! Can't wait to see you. Is this your first Olivia vacation? It's my first.

I asked about packing for "formal evenings" and such, and I was told that there is usually one costume night/party (or more) and there may be one "black and white" formal evening. I think we find out about that later. Thanks for the tip about the over-the-door shoe bag and toiletries. One thing that's influencing how much I pack is that I hear there are good laundry packages available on board (there aren't any self-service laundry facilities), so I will probably bring less stuff and have it washed. Since I'm flying down from NH, I'll need a travel set of warm clothes, but otherwise I should be able to make do with lighter garments.

P.S. Someone also told me there may be "clothing optional" parties by the pool BUT you won't see this fair-skinned redhead without clothes in full sunshine!!
