It took me a lifetime to accept myself and with that I must accept others. Personally, my chances for marriage have long passed but you and I will stand up as Olivia has for the right of those who deserve equal rights in marriage. I won't be able to sleep until I hear who won. This conversation means so much now. This is the reason Olivia began. I truly believe this is a turning point in which others gave their life for. I would give mine at this point if others in the future could LIVE THEIR LIFE FULLY. Thanks for talking with me.

One would think that you were right, Maggie- except that I have met LGBT people who are against marriage and don't even want it as an option for the rest of us. So my language was intentionally inclusive of those folks, even though I personally think that it's misguided to be against having the choice. After all, no one is going to make same-sex couples get married when we have the right; it'll simply make for more work for couples therapists as people have the difficult discussion about why one of them doesn't want to get married! And oh yeah, more work for the divorce lawyers, as marriage licenses will replace u-hauls for some folks. Me, I voted for my right to marriage equality, and for candidates who stand behind that right.

Today is Nov. 6, 2012...Election Day and I am talking to myself again. I am thinking of Margarethe Cammermeyer today and many, many others. Last time I felt this strongly toward something was when I found Meg Christian's music. Off to vote for you know who!

We from Minnesota feel we have a pretty good chance......we have been telling those that feel it's against the church to just leave it blank! A blank vote is a NO vote and it will help!!!

No Sweetheart....ALL OF US at Olivia want our human rights. Finally, right must prevail. It is our time. That's all there is to it! The world will not fall apart if finally see equality. All will eventually see how very right it is. Thank you for this topic :))

This year, marriage equality is up for a vote in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington State. If you live in one of those states, please be sure to vote! If you KNOW someone who lives in one of those states, now is the time to call, email, post on your Facebook page, do something to contact everyone you know in those states and remind them how important it is to you personally that they vote for marriage equality. Your friends from school, your relatives -- every single vote counts. So many people who would support our rights if they knew what to do are uninformed or don't know how much this would make a difference. Even when it's not your state, each state getting marriage equality gets all of us in the US a step closer to full equality. No matter where you lean on any other matter, I think that almost all of us who are part of the Olivia family want equal marriage rights for all.
