Yeah I highly recommend the houseboat rental. We are planning another for 2009 on Lake Mead this time (closer to Vegas!!). Eight women on a boat got tough at times but all in all we have great memories and photos.

We usually stay at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. Price is right (usually comped) and I love the location. We went for New Years this year and last - that is insane. Good luck when you go!! What is your game of choice?? We like black jack and craps. But I'm really a sucker for the slots (I hate to say!)

All the parents are good now. We travel and do stuff with my parents but haven't been able to bring ourselves to venture away again with Lori's mom.  She has been divorced for 25 years and there is definately a reason she is still alone. Hate to say it she is lovely but tough.

Looking forward to meeting everyone - although my girl laughs at me cause in a crowd I'm the quiet one. She can't believe on here "making friends" she says don't bother cause I won't talk to you all when I get on the boat!

Drinks a few of these will help!!

Okay.  Here comes newbie couple number??????.  Deb and I just celebrated 14 years together.  This is our first Olivia cruise.  We have been talking about doing this FOREVER!  We had our first taste of cruising last year (Royal Caribbean).  I think I may be addicted.  I was addicted to Vegas, but I think cruising may top that now.  We are very excited.  I have been secretly getting to know everyone in this group for the last few weeks now and figured it's about time I join in.  Can't wait to see you all!!!

BWAHAHAHAHA, you sound evil, Jelene...I like that in a person!  Sure, just watch as our little heads implode at the realities of what we've signed on for.  Evil, evil...and most entertaining, I'm sure!  Did I hear something about naked cannonball competitions?  Oh my!  That's deinitely one i'll choose to spectate, rather than participating in.  Bum darts, on the other hand....hmmmm!  I suspect that this cruise will be unlike any of the previous ones we've ever been on!  Looking forward to meeting your "posse" and appreciate the welcome!

WOW, Toni, now there's something to celebrate!  Sounds like a sweet story and I'd love to hear how you got together!  Maybe we can grab a drink on the cruise?

Hi Glenda and Marge,

20 years...congrats!  And what a way to celebrate!  Though we've been together for 20+ years, Andi prefers to count from when she moved in.  So that means we've got another two years to go before we celebrate our 20 years.  We're planning a trip "down under" to celebrate, though, so it should be well worth the wait.  And, let's face it, it's not like it's a painful wait--Andi's pretty amazing and a whole lot of fun!  Looking forward to meeting the two of you!

Sweet--I've always wanted to do a houseboat with friends!  And to top it off with 4 days in Lost Wages....must've been a blast!  Where did you stay?

I give you credit wanting to go on another cruise after the last one!  That trip sounded, um, "challenging" at best!  Hope Lori's Mom is with the program now?  We're really lucky, we get along great with my folks--even travel together because we WANT to!  But we're getting to the point where we just don't find mainstream cruises as much fun as they once were.  Love the concept, hate the stares, I guess.  I'm hopeful that this cruise will finally offer the best of both worlds.

And I am sooooo ready for a vacation!  I've got a trip to Vegas for business the first week of March....then I have to survive hosting Easter....but then....woo hoo!!  Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Pam & Andi,

My partner Marge & I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2008, hence the Carribean cruise.  We both love to travel also, but ours has been seeing the U.S. with the exception of a 2 week drive through Mexico.

Looking forward to see you onboard.

CarrieP and I have been together 11? years.  Sure hope I guessed the right number there.

We also met in 8th grade.  But it was years later before she came to her senses and realized that she was head-over-heels in love with the dorky redhead that sat behind her in English.

My partner and I will be celebrating 22 years in May (along with my 40th birthday . LOL).  We have been together since high school and known each other since the 8th grade.  This will be our first cruise and we can't wait.

Yep!    My girl and I have been togeather almost 13 years now.  Most people don't believe us.  We are going on this cruise to see friends of our from the oposite side of the country.  We actually met one of them on our last Olivia cruise!

Hi Pam-n-Andi,

Welcome aboard.  We (Lori and I) are also first time Olivia travelers. And I gotta admit it took me a bit to convince her she wanted to do this.  Our last cruise, years back, we took her mom and aunt and it was a disaster.  Her mother wanted to walk between us and hold Lori's hand. At the time her mom wasn't too cool with things if you know what I mean.  We have been together 10 years - most lesbians I know think 2 years is a lot so 10 is a lifetime.  Lori is definately my best friend and better half.  Wish we know more couples like us that just enjoyed being together and traveling and living it up while we can.  From all the reading it seems this may be the place to meet em.

I read your profile and you guys sure seem to know how to have fun.  For our 40th birthday,  eight of us rented a houseboat on Lake Powell for 7 days and then spent 4 more in Las Vegas. Not as exotic as Tahiti, but still great fun

Looking more and more forward to this trip every second!! Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hi Pam,

You won't find that you are lacking new friends on Olivia, but it all starts right here.  Although I am not in a relationship, nor do I care to be in one just now, I'll happily dine with you two any night!!  Beware though....I come fully equipped with a whole posse of lovely friends who will also happily share in your first Olivia experience!!!!

Ahhh, Olivia virgins....I love to watch the newbies trying to wrap their heads around 500 lesbians sitting around the Lido Deck, mouths agape those first few days......There's nothing like it and you'll soon see what I mean!

Welcome, welcome!!!

Hi,

My partner and I (first-timers with Olivia) are looking forward to making some new friends on this cruise (not that there's anything wrong with our current friends, mind you, they're just not coming on the trip!)   We've been together for 20 years, lived together for 18 years and are best friends, to boot--absolutely no drama here!  We're looking forward to meeting fellow travelers to share meals and good times.
