Bud N' BBQ will be going on at Busch Gardens the Sunday that we leave, If you feel like venturing East on Saturday, SeaWorld is having Bud N' BBQ in Orlando. They or I should say we usually have great performers. Right now they are TBD, but check in on the websites when we get closer!

Thanks for the great idea!  We're going to fly to Tampa a day early so that we can go to Busch Gardens again.  We had a chance to go there when we were in Tampa for the women's Final Four last year.

The animals and gardens are amazing.  We did one of the behind the scenes animal tours and got some pretty decent pictures which are on my Flickr page at:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/pierham/sets/72157622413662576/show/

You might be able to call the hotel and let them know you're coming in on the 25th and just get your room early...Eileen

ok just spoke to sheri, we def want to go so we allready have reservations at the host hotel so maybe we will fly in on the 25 and stay at the airport that night unless someone has two doubles and will let us crash on the 25th split up the cost of the room that night...

Hi Eileen,

I googled your questions:

  • hotel to BG: 10 miles
  • travel time: 20 minutes
  • parking: $12 per car
  • accessible parking: front of lot A (first come/first served)
  • hours: not posted yet for February...but Fridays in December are 10am - 6pm
  • tickets: $60 if purchased on-line (group tickets at reduced price if group of 15+...must call to get details)
  • number of roller coasters: 6 (newest built in 2005 sounds TOTALLY awesome...description below Yes)

Can you tell that I'm excited about the BG outting???

SheiKra:  Busch Gardens Tampa Bay reinforced its reputation as Florida's premier thrill-packed adventure park on May 21, 2005 by unveiling SheiKra, the nation's first dive coaster. Set among the jungle ruins of a once-mighty African civilization, SheiKra carries riders up 200 feet at 45 degrees, then hurtle them 70 mph back toward the ground at a 90-degree angle. It is the first coaster of its kind in the Americas and only the third in the world. Similar diving coasters in England and Taiwan can't match the height, speed and intensity SheiKra offers. SheiKra is also the first dive coaster to incorporate an Immelmann loop, a water feature, and a second 90-degree, 138-foot drop through an underground tunnel. The ride also includes a 360-degree climbing carousel. SheiKra's 3,188 feet of steel track offers a total ride time of just over three minutes.

 Bring it on!!!!!!
