Back in November, when I lost my fanny pack and all my i.d., $$$, passport, etc., while on the Olivia cruise, I made a police report with the Honolulu P.D. I have also been trying to make a claim with Travelex Insurance. I have got to tell you something about this insurance company. They are quick to take your money and issue a policy, but they are slow as molasses when it comes to paying out a claim. They keep sending documents back, with another requirement. I don't have a huge claim, but it is expensive replacing ones i.d. and passort and glasses and stuff. I gave Travelex the police case #, date of the report and the Cst. name and badge #. Now the want a copy of the report and also original receipts of expenses being claimed for!!! Not fun going thru papers and old files trying to find original receipts for glasses bought 18 months ago.
Anyhow, if one you Hawaii gals can get the e-mail address for the Honolulu P.D. I can then write to them and ask for my written police report. Thankyou in advance... Mary

Hey...talking about mice/rats - Those electronic mouse/rat traps are the way to go. They use like 4 C batteries and you put a little peanut butter in them way in the back. Then the mice/rats go in there and it electrocutes them. It is a quick end for them and much less messy for me. They are a little bit more expensive at first but I think it is well worth it.

INDE: I was totally surprised that they recognized us/me. Especially Wilson in Le Bistro. He apparently remembered what we talked about even. What a guy. I tried to get the waiter that services the area around the pool to tell me what I ordered to drink that one and only time I got a drink from him because that whole week we all were there everytime he saw me he would say my order and try to get me to order it again - but though he remembered me, he couldn't quite go so far as to remember the drink but when I told him he did remember.

NAF: Whale watching is usually especially good around February normally (but good from like December through April or so). Hurricane season is over by December. But anytime you are sick and tired of your weather there is probably the BESTEST time to come here. *smile* How cool that would be for them.

Oh...do any of you lovely ladies own a Prius or know anyone who does? I'm thinking very strongly of getting a new one here in a couple of weeks. First we have to get through the refi on the Kona house and then I'll go in and get the car (don't want any credit inquiries or anything to mess up the refi). I've looked on line and it gets wonderful reviews and the one woman I know who has one just LOVES it. Did go in and looked at them last week and talked to the salesman. I really think its the way for me to go.

Must say been busy with work, work at the home front and s few side jobs. Today may wash the vech., mail a package and try to finish the water ditch, that is if it decides not to rain today. The sky is looking rather grey as of now. If so, have plenty I can do inside.
My neighbor put out a live animal trap to catch the possums or the raccoons that are living under his house and making a mess, but so far all he has caught is my big ol grey fat cat, Smokey, in the cage the other nite. Think the cat will not go back into the thing again, but one never knows. The smell of food may override his judgement of going in again.
Aside from just being handy round heres, will try to get out on the river next weekend again to play.

Nice and sunny here today. I'm off too work shortly. Dallas beat Van. at hockey last night by one goal... 'twas an excellent game though. Van. leads 3 - 2, so there will be another game tomorrow night(another pub night with friends).

Emi: btw...am planning a future Hawaii trip at some point and wondering what time during our winter might be the best to plan for Hawaii ..weather wise etc...whale watching ..yadda yadda...and to avoid hurricane, typhoon or whatevva else is there...any suggestions as to best times would be helpful ..also might send my parents there next year for their 50th wedding anniversary ...sheesh ...staying together THAT long, a trip to Paradise is the LEAST they deserve! :D
