If you owned a store, what would you sell?

No calorie, no sugar, no fat.....but taste great sweets !!!!  I think that I would need to invent them first however....ha ha

how about you Evergreen.?

What problem or issue that you have difficulty with, would you like to have someone come up with a way to solve it or an invention to take care of it ?

Mine is that I want someone to invent a way to keep dust from occurring.  It gets everywhere and I just cannot keep up with it.

"What modern convenience do you feel should never have been invented?"

As much as I use the remote control...I think of it as a double edge sword.  I think it has led to many less than positive results....including a shorter attention span !   Think of how many times we have decreased patience for what is coming next or for something to occur.  I trace much of this back to the remote control as when it came along, we no longer had to have patience to wait through the commercials etc.

Brewmax,

The bobsled ride was an absolute thrill...My mother and I went and she loved it also...

Unfortunately, my dad was ill that day and could not go which was really too bad as it was his friend who took us.

Another part of that story is that when the 1980 Olympics came to Lake Placid (a short distance from us then)  that same friend was now the Manager of the USA Bobsled team.  My mother and I were able to go into the "booth" when the Olympic Time Trials were running.  The booth is where the timekeeper was and the stats were all tallied up.

So, we watched quite a few of the Olympic teams take the run for the time trials leading up to the actual competetion.  There were little Jo & Bev (mom) sitting right in the booth at the finish line !  They also had all of the close circut TV's from up the course, so you could see almost the whole run.  Just amazing !

About the question....I did not know I had to add one for each response..

Is there any occupation that you have wanted to try ?

No question Brewmax?

I agree about those dreadful call answer machines. I think my least favourite though is the cellphone. Both came to us as a result of the invention by the man who gave me a career! I would think he'd be turning in his grave if he knows the uses of his genious. For example Call Marketing is most annoying and an invasion of privacy

Here's a question: If you owned a store, what would you sell?

annoying modern convenience?  hmmm, there are many but I think menu-driven call answering machines are the most annoying to me now.

sliced bread came about in the late 1920's. . . I'd say one of the best things BEFORE sliced bread might have been toilet paper, which was invented in the late 1870's. Huh?

"If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you want to live?" ~

I don't think anyone answered that question so I will:

Most definitely I would want to be right here in SW Ontario for Summer because I love it here. However, once the days get short & the snow arrives, I'd like to be in the Virgin Islands (British first choice but I love the US islands too)

My other choice would be to spend the winter going from one Olivia cruise to another!!!

What modern convenience do you feel should never have been invented?

(I can think of quite a few!)

JoCindy, the bobsled ride must have been such a thrill!  Wow!  That is just so wonderful and cool that you had the experience!  I'm totally envious of that one!  In my youth, I loved to go fast and would have been up for that experience even decades later!  Good for you!

 What's your question?

A day in the life.....as one of the California couples who are awaiting the court decision to legalize Gay marriage there.  Just imagine how they must feel right now...

I have said it before....but  it bears repeating....this is a fun thread.

I would want to be the house cat of any of us who treat their cats & dogs like one of the family.  Right now I am watching my two...stretch out in the sun....how great is that??

Evergreen,

I was getting to that one......

With all of that money.. I have actually thought of this before so it is a great question..

I agree with you that I would want to take care of all of our friends and family also . I would want to pay off any debt for these people and set up enough so that none would have to worry about any bills etc again.

Also...we could set up our own little "family" neighborhood down here in Murrells Inlet !  I could go on & on.

Oh Yeah...and go on at least 3 Olivia vacations a year with our friends Evergreen  ( & Phyl)!

Hi All,

My annual television moment is The Masters...

My favorite travel moment...you will have to indulge me with 2.

1) the Olivia cruise that Cindy & I did our Committment Ceremony (and thanks to Olivia we were filmed for the DVD so we have some "film" of it)

2) In 1972, I was fortunate to take the Lake Placid Bobsled Run from the top at regular racing speed.

A friend of my father's (who went on the be the Manager of the USA 1980 Olympic Bobsled Team) took us down in a sled.  It was an absolutely breath taking 2 minutes and unlike anything that I have done before or since.
