C & J - 40 years - wow!!! congrats doesn't seem like enough. My partner and I just celebrated our 26th a few weeks back. I love seeing all of us long term couples; at one time it was unheard of. You will love the cruise - we took our first one last year for our 25th, had so much fun we signed up for Mexico while on board the ship. Hope to meet everyone on the cruise.

Thanks Ambandes...this will be our second cruise and one of my favorite times from the first one was at the committment ceremony when everyone told how long they had been together..to hear that some couples had been together for as long as us and others even longer..was such an inspiration for us. We are really looking forward to this cruise...we have convinced 11 of our friends to join us and I am sure it is going to be a very special vacation.

CandJ4ever....40 years.. WOW...that is so wonderful..my partner and I celebrated our 22nd last March. Would love to meet you on the cruise...we are flying into San Diego the Wednesday evening before the cruise, with hopes that we can get tickets to Ellen on Thursday. If not we will be looking for some advice as to how to spend the day on Thursday.
Again, Congrats on your 40 years. In our community it is such a rarity and also an inspiration.

C&J,

Congratulations on 40 years together! What a better way to celebrate than on an Olivia cruise!

This is our first cruise also, and we are more than excited! I'm sure as we get close to cruise day, I'll have lots of questions for you about San Diego. Maybe when you get a chance, you could post about San Diego tourist sites and places to eat. The USS Midway tour sounds great!

I'd also be interested in activities within walking distance of the host hotel. Also, what is a good beach to go walk and wade in?

Gator - Thank you for the welcome...Anthony's is always a good choice, they have 5 restaurants here, its informal and the food is delicious. The USS Midway tour admission $15.00 is will worth it, you get to see a lot of the ship. Or you might enjoy the Harbor Tour, 2 hours for $22.00,they also have 1 hour tours available.

Hope this helps, Joy

Were here in San Diego, so if I can answer any questions you might have, ask away. Can't wait to meet everyone. [/qb][/QUOTE]Welcome to our cruise. My group is planning to eat at Anthony's at the pier. Is that a good choice? Is it worth going to see the aircraft carrier?

Thanks

Marriott Marquis in Times Square is a great place to stay and they have the best buffet. I don't live there - but, I've visited... and it's walking distance to Today Show.

So, I know we are still a long way from our cruise, but I've been looking over the shore excursion brochure on the Holland America website and I have a question... has anyone gone on one of the excursions where they serve food - and were there any problems?

Jean
