Someone asked me where we were anchoring and I had to actually pull up the itinerary and look lol ..realizing it didn't really matter WHERE we were going when I booked this cruise!! Yes ..my homegirls,...it's called sanity in January!! We live just outside of Fairbanks .....they don't sell underwear here though ..(an Alaskan joke...) so we STILL hafta jump in the ole car and drive in to the Wally Mart :)

After just having weathered 8 long months of Winter here in Alaska, my gal said anywhere WARM and SUNNY was fine with her :) It was a toss up between Mayan ruins in March or January Dreams. We were really leaning toward the Treasures cruise...I am an archeology nut and it would have been a GRAND why to celebrate our 2nd year together...on April Fool's Day, no less!! It came down to logistics .... I just tend to sink into a slow stupor by January, but the long,dark drone of Winter is harder on the girl.
This will be "the first" for both of us. And I'm looking forward to savoring E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G :) .....not the least of which will be time with my girl. Summers are way short here and right now I'm trying not to think about January .....brrrrrrr!! :)
Marla...If you're listening, you've inspired me to try that standing on the balcony naked thing ;) That'll be a first too! :) And when I'm not on the balcony, I look forward to seeing some of you on board ..(I'm the quiet one :) )

My partner and I booked the Caribbean Dreams 2008 cruise. If all goes according to plan, I will be celebrating my retirement. Can't think of a nicer way to do it than an Olivia cruise. We live in Northern California and will be arriving around midnite Friday night.
