Hi everyone!  I am looking forward to meeting you all on the trip!  I will be going on the ship at the end of October, and will be able to come back with some great ideas and good tips for the trip.

We used this cruise line for our Provence trip, and it was excellent! You will love the "whisper" head sets that everyone gets when going on the tours. That way no one has to wrestle to "get up front" to hear the guide. Everyone can hear her/him with the headsets - they are great! Just be careful if you stray away taking pictures. You can look up and find the group gone, but still hear the guide! lol.

For now, I encourage all of you to book our 2 night pre package in Amsterdam. This is a city you want to have several days in to explore, from the Rijks museum, Van Gogh museum, the gay area of town and the "Pink Triangle" kiosk that always welcomes us, to the Anne Frank House Tour, Kuekenhof gardens, Red Light District, canal boat rides at night, fabulous restaurants and just to wander around the gay-friendly city is so much fun. Amsterdam is a destination all to itself! You'll love it.

Well, I took a huge leap and booked on this cruise yesterday. I'll be joining you from Australia!! I'm excited to be travelling on this cruise and finally going to Europe (despite the long flight to get there). I'd be keen to hear from any other Australians travelling on this trip, or anyone who will be stopping over in Asia on the way to Europe.

 Thought we'd send a note saying hello and how much we're looking forward to the trip. We thought we'd try a cruise down the river, as one of us gets sea-sick. Hopefully, it will be easy going. I imagine the sights will be spectacular!! We're counting down the days.

 We went on two other Olivia vacations - both to Mexico. One to Playa del Carmen in November 2004 (I think) and the other last November to Nuevo Vallarta. They were great. It was so nice to be around so many lesbians! It was difficult returning to reality afterward. But, it gave us something to look forward to.

This is going to be a great cruise.  It's tempting to sign up but I've just started a job (six months ago) that has me living in Germany!  I'm living about halfway between the beginning and end points of the cruise. 

My partner and I have only been on one Olivia cruise but it was wonderful.  We did a cruise to Alaska in 2007 for our 20th anniversary.  We're going on an all women's motorcycle tour in Tuscany this summer with Towanda tours!

If I can be of any assistance to you gals in getting ready for the trip, info about Germany, etc., let me know.  I'm so excited for you!

We are seriously considering joining you guys.... I think it would be a great time.

We are so excited about this cruise and looking forward to meeting everyone!

Merri and I just returned from the Carribean Dreams Cruise Jan 2008 and it was wonderful as always.  I have gone to the old calenders and our first Olivia cruise was on Dolphin on the 5 day/4 night July 22nd to 26th 1991.  The entertainment was Karen Williams, Marga Gomez, Lucie Blue Trembley, Diane Davison, and Teresa Trull.  Holly Near's pianist was also on board.  John wore a shirt that said "no one knows I'm a Lesbian".  The gift from Olivia in our cabins was a very nice Blue Golf Shirt. (Lots of people on this cruise liked the shirt very much since I still wear it).  I have pictures of the Dolphin ship in port in Nassua next to the monster ships.  I remember the deck party at night with the other ships watching us.  There were two ladies on the deck of the monster ship standing off to the side.  We called up to them and told them they were on the wrong ship. They agreed.  The 35th anniversary video shown on the Jan 2008 cruise was great. Lots of wonderful memories.  I couldn't remember about the beds on that first cruise but looking at the pictures we did have two single beds.  This last cruise was our fifth and the WOW program gave us the signed KD Lang CD's as well as flowers and champagne in the room.  We felt very pampered!!  Thanks for making this dream of womens entertainment on the water a reality.  We have booked the Tulips to Chocolates for 2009 and are looking very forward to it.

One other thing - our first cruise was a 2 for 1 that was awarded in March of 1991 at the Chris Williamson concert in Atlanta.  We didn't win but we got a call from Olivia in May asking if we could go.  We said YES!..  One woman who was going in Atlanta  wanted to get to know people before the cruise since she was going solo.  She could not get the list of names from Olivia so she sent party invitations to Olivia and they sent them out.  We attended and met 7 other ladies who were going from the area.   We had lots of questions that we couldn't answer but the one quesition I remember is we all wondered what the customs folks would think of our sex toys.!!

During that first cruise we made friends with two wonderful ladies from Virginia (Beth and Deb) and cruised with them on Olivia to Alaska in 2006.  It was sure fun on this cruise to see the video of that cruise on the TV in our room.  During Alaska the 4 of us became friends with Blake and Salem from Asia and they told us we had to go on this cruise!  It is so wonderful to continue to build new friendships!!!
