OH NO Stumpy,

I hope that by the time you get this message you will have good news in you head, luggage in one hand, and a cocktail in the other.  I usually only take one big bag and a carry on.  If you need some clothes (because I know you will be in the states for a while), I can pack a bag for you, but you have to help me with sizes.  Over the years, I have had clothes averaging from M,L,XL (I know I need to clean house out and head to the GoodWill, but hey now I am happy I haven't done it yet) and I have tons of t-shirts that I have for walk around in when doing stuff around the house and those are all 2XL & 3XL (I guess I am my Daddy's girl-I loved to sleep in his t-shirts).  Let me know some sizes and I will do whatever I can.  I am not going to think of all the horror stories, but their are just as many good luggage reunion stories.  I will be glad to do it, but I just need to know as soon as you can, because this girl would be trying to mix and match to get it all together for ya.  Take care sweetie and hang in there.  I will be working and unable to get to FLL until the morning of the flight.  Hey, I just remembered, I have an incredibly awesome acct with FEDEX and I could send you some clothes in FLL.  Here is my Photo Studio cell phone #, which I always have with me, so let me know if I can help in any way.  The number is 704-777-7729.  I got you in my thoughts and I am hoping you can relax during this time with whatever works---Anyone else let me know if you know something and I can help at all.  Katch is in CLT, NC hub for USAirlines-just FYI-have no idea how you will finally be going to FLL or WEST PALM-If that were the case and you came through CLT, then could meet you at airport and give a bag of clothes to use.

Hello my lovelies!! I am finally emerging from under the pile on my desk (amazing what lighting a fire can do to clear the paperwork)   ...now to start packing! I have to leave my house in less than ...lets see....7 hours....so I guess its time...another toss n go fly-by-packing-ala-naffers! am sure my girl will be enthused (haha) ...see you all soon!

PSS...talked to Stumpy and she seems in good spirits all things considered...will see her and Jelene soon (am sure she has no recall of the flight to FLL..thats what happens when you rub 2 aussies together on a flight....add alcohol and voila! Instant partaaay!)

OH BOY!!!!  You sound like  Kool Kat to me, i would so be freakin out!  Not that, that would be a good thing, but i  would...with that being said......your travel insurance has a baggage delay clause (or it should anyway, most do)  get in touch with them and see what you are entitled to, it doesnt just include delays, it handles extra expenses due to canceled flights.....etc. Like someone said you get reimbursed according to days and some policies even for an amount of hours delayed.  check your policy, please tell me you have one.  Good luck, I am praying that your clothes will be where you want them to stumpy!  It has happened to me and yes i always found them and got them back, but the headache and grief it causes waiting .............stay calm.........I promise you they will reach you!.... hugs val

Stumpy, that sucks, and I know how long that flight from your East to our West Coast is!!! Ya just wanna get there!!

My bags have been lost many times, but I've always gotten them back.  Once they were  lost enroute to Belize at the start of a week long trip in Central America, and I had to snorkel in my clothes and borrow random articles of clothing from the other much bigger women on the trip for the 2 days we were out on Caye Caulker.  Not fun. But they were waiting at the airport when we went after leaving the island.  And you WILL get yours back too!!

 Be sure to ask what the airline policy on lost bags is.  For every period of time (varies domestic vs intl - and I'm not sure what it is these days) they owe you money - for clothes, etc.  So for example, if it's 24 hours, they owe you $50; after 48 hours, they owe you $100, etc.  You might have to provide recipts, etc., but you might come out of this with some new clothes for free.  You should also be able to talk them out of some meal vouchers.

OMG Stumpy...that sucks about your flight and lost luggage, I'm so sorry!  You must be SO exhausted after all of your traveling.  We'd be happy to share some clothes with you...although ours might be a bit loose on you. LOL!

Please keep us all posted if you can...it will all work out for you, I just know it!

OMG - well I made it to the States but I'm still in bloody LA.  My connecting flight to Dallas was cancelled and they couldn't get me on another one to make my other connecting flight from Dalls to West Palm Beach.  SSSSSoooooo, I'm now flying directly to Ft Lauderdale at 11.30pm tonight (I'm now on your time!!! lol).  This means I miss out on my massage that Jelene had arranged etc.

AND, to make matters worse - THEY'VE LOST MY BAGS......  I have no clothes, no gifts/sourveniers & most importantly NO BUNDY RUM.....  Because my baggage was checked in to go to West Palm beach they "Think" that instead of pulling it off the cancelled flight, they sent it on it's merry way.  Hopefully when I get to Ft Lauderdale I just fill out a claim form and they send my luggage from West Palm beach down to my hotel  ---  HOPEFULLY.  If not I'm going to be borrowing clothes for 4 weeks..

I actually met another Aussie girl in the 'flight cancelled we'll attempt to find you another line" who was also going to West Palm beach so we've been hanging out.  It's her first time in a plane and all this sh!t happens.  They gave us  a room at the Hilton so we've been able to have a shower and a sleep.

Lucky I still have my sense of humor - but will probably lose it tomorrow morning if my luggage doesn't show up.

I'm really going to need this cruise to relax - this was suppose to be easy, get on several planes, get picked up by Jelene with cocktail in hand, have massage, drink and be merry.  LMAO
