Hi again,
Read the messages about the entertainment and HAL... I totally agree with both. On the Alaska cruise the entertainment was outstanding - Meg Christian, Margie Adams, Kate Clinton, Roxanna Ward, Karen Williams - wow it was incredible! I can't wait to see who else is going to be on our cruise. Very smart going to the entertainer's websites. We are transplants from East Coast (ME & NH - orginally MA) to CA just in the last 2 years. Saw lots of entertainers in Ptown when we lived there. Seeing them on these cruises is great. And, I totally agree with the person who mentioned that HAL is top of the line. Everything on ship exceeded our expectations...but, don't remember a mineral water pool... must only be on some ships. Hopefully will be on our ship. Bye for now... Jeanmac

Hello Cheryl,
Thanks for the heads up on the mineral pool and the ceramic lounge chairs...That sounds like fun...where do you get the passes from on the ship?? Where are you an RN at? That's exciting to know that there are lots of RN's on board!! This trip is just getting a little more exciting everyday!!! Merry Christmas to everyone by the way!!!! (if I don't check back on here before then) I hope Santa is good to ya!!!

Hi all...
My wife and I will be going on this cruise. It is a surprise for her. We recently just returned from Hawaii and it was INCREDIBLE ! We have also cruised with Olivia to the Eastern Caribbean a few years ago. The Holland America Line of vista ships are WONDERFUL. If you have never cruised before, you will be spoiled when traveling on other ships. I am glad Olivia uses them a great deal. One great thing about the ships is the mineral pool and the thermal room. We wish we had discovered them much earlier on our first ship. The mineral pool is a heated swimming pool of mineral water and is GREAT for anyone with chronic pain (I have RA.) The thermal room has these incredible heated ceramic lounge chairs that face a wall of glass and there is relaxation music playing. There are aromatheraphy saunas in this room as well. We are going to get a pass for the whole cruise this time but we both felt that the day pass that we got last time was even better than our massages (which were great). I read almost a whole book on one of the heated lounges :)
I am also a nurse. There are always a huge number of them on the ship.
As far as excursions, the exact details usually do not come out until about a month before the cruise. They are usually the same ones that the cruise line offers for other cruises with the same ports of call. Below is the link to HAL's Mexican ports of call excursions.

Carol and I are 39 and 45 respectively.

I look forward to getting to know more of you through the forum in these long months until October. Let me know if you have any questions about cruising or traveling with Olivia that I might be able to answer.

Cheryl

Hi everyone! My partner Kathy and I are going on this cruise. We got the email the day we got back from our Alaska cruise in September and we had such a great time we signed right up. One fun thing is that we met 2 women on the Alaska cruise that we really enjoyed - and they decided to sign up too - so we are really looking forward to seeing them again on the Mexican cruise. This forum can be a great source of info - like the link to the water temps - thanks to the person who posted that. Look forward to "talking" with you all as we wait for the time to go by. :)

Hey...you are welcome. I am so excited that you are going to be going!!! You are going to have such a blast. And Olivia ALWAYS takes care of the singles! Don't worry. You may even make a life-long friend out of this "roommate" thing. They will certainly be lucky to have you for a roomie. (p.s. everyone single...this one is one to look out for...AND she works in the ER...might be handy to keep her around. HEE HEE). Love ya Val!

Julie & Donna: The link below shows air temps & sea temps for Puerto Vallarta. Oct/Nov are the highest all year.
I don't think you'll have a problem swimming on that vacation........

I wonder if the water will be cold in that part of the Pacific during October? Does anyone know? I imagine it will be tropically delicious...but I've never been. (this will determine what excursions I want to plan for)

Hi everyone,
No, I have not heard who my roomie will be yet, I was thinking I wouldn't find out until closer to cruise date. It sure would be nice to know that person ahead of time, it's an interesting thought, sleeping a few feet away from someone I've never met (I know, I know, all of you don't have that dilemma). On the brighter side, every day's a new day to meet people...L & V-If your friend ever wants to talk, or get to know another solo before the trip, that would be great...And yes, I will go on the Holland America sight to look at possible excursions, thanks Diana!
