This is the puppy we are probably going to be bringing in as a new addition to our family.  We already have "Sugar" so are thinking this could be "Spice" - what do you think?  Our very own "Spice Girl"!?!?!?

 This is my dear sweet Darby.  She was my once in a life time dog.  She travelled everywhere with me for 15 years.  Half Australian shepherd and half German Shepherd.

 Quickly grabbing a moment at work to reply.  WE LOVE CANADIANS !!!!!!

Nose: The nose is fairly broad with the nostrils well open, tapering at the tip. The color should blend with that of the coat, or be black. Fault: bright pink nose.  (from American Kennel Club standard for NSDTR)

They usually call it a "liver" colored nose. 

Peggy had researched this breed of dog for quite awhile as she wanted something "just a little different" than a Golden Retreiver.  We have been told that we never refer to a NSDTR as a "miniature golden".  We aquired Piper from a breeder in Alabama http://www.keepsaketollers.net and in August, 2005 we drove down from Illinois to get her.  Fun trip to say the least.....Piper was not too happy to be seperated from her siblings. 

Piper has developed into a loving and faithful dog.  She is my buddy most of the time.  Funny thing though.....she is a retreiver and she is supposed to like water....right ?  Think again.  She hates to get her feet wet !!!!!!!! Rosie on the other hand will see water, a puddle even, and she is there.

 Colette, I was intrigued by the pink nose on your retriever & while researching it, found the following which was interesting. (I still don't know anything about the pink nose though!!): 

Sensible and very devoted to its family. An owner in Michigan credits her well-being to her dog, after he twice saved her, once legitimately and more than once "illegitimately." The first instance occurred in a hiking expedition where she ended up on an unstable ledge. This medium-sized dog braced himself so that his owner could grasp his collar and pull herself to safety. The other instance involved her swimming attempts. He would not let her go deeper than ankle-high water in order to keep her safe!

Chloe loves playing with Kleenex boxes. It's not unusual to see at least one empty one on the floor in each room in our house!!
