Patti, Ivy, and Becky,

My partner and I are getting in around noon on Aug. 1 and staying at the Kristof Square Studios on Kristof Square off the Uta Vaci.  We would love to join you for lunch or whatever if that's ok.  Looking forward to meeting new friends on the trip.

Hi Becky and Ivy,

That sounds great!   I'm staying at Kapital Inn, which is a small gay-owned B&B a block off Andrassy Ut, so I'm further out from city center than you are.  Still, it'd be great to meet, find a place for lunch, etc.  I'm traveling solo, so my plans are flexible.  Let's plan on it!

Laurie and  I are excited about this trip up the Danube. This is our second Olivia Adventure, the first was th cruise from Boston to Montreal. I have spent a great deal of time in Europe and lived in Germany for a couple of years in the  1989 & early 90's. Laurie is a recent convert to travel and has spent time in Great Britain, The Netherlands, Finland and Germany. This will be our first time in Eastern Europe and Vienna. (Although I've been to Salzburg and no... I didn't take the Sound of Music tour-- it didn't exist when I visited)

We live in the El Cerrito (East Bay).  Laurie is an Associate Professor at San Jose State University with the School of Social Work and I am a Project Manager @ Innovative Interfaces (library software).

We are arriving on July 31st and would love to meet folks ahead of time and see the sites. No sure where we are staying yet.

Hi  Patty,

We are are staying at the Mercure hotel on Vaci Utca. Maybe we can meet on Saturday August 2nd and find a place for lunch. We will be exploring the area around the Chain Bridge ( Szechenyi Lanchid ).

Hi Becky and Ivy,

I'm arriving in Budapest on 7/30, to see the sights and get used to the time change.  I think it'd be great if some of us who are getting there ahead of time could meet.  Do you know what part of the city you're staying in?  I'm at a B&B a block off Andrassy Ut (Blvd), which is in Zone 2, east of the river.

Anyone else?

Hi everyone,

My partner Ivy and I are arriving in Budapest on Aug. 1, and we are also going on the post trip to Prague. We are looking forward to this trip and meeting everyone.

Does anyone have any ideas of a place where we can hook up in Budapest for those of us getting in early ? Perhaps we can meet in one of the unpronouncable squares with a flower in our shirt pockets so we can identify each other Smile

Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hey Stepahnie and Stacey!  Glad to see you will also be on the trip. Looking forward to some more great photos, and your Hawaiian shirt pics along the Danube :-) Congrats on your 10th anniversary and 40th birthday! . . .And Stacey's graduation from her Graphic Design Program. I am sure you have updated your profile with this very important information :-)

See you soon, (Sleepless in Chicago)

Greetings!  I guess I'm a little late to this thread, but finally had a little break from work to start thinking about more plans for this vacation.  My partner, Stacey, and I are really looking forward to this trip.  We are celebrating our 10th anniversary, my 40th birthday (yikes) and her graduation from a graphic design program, which will be a second career for her.  What better way to celebrate all of that than going on a romantic river boat trip in Europe?!

This is my 4th and her 5th Olivia cruise and we've really had some great experiences with them.  Our highlights include trips to Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands.  We're arriving in Budapest 2 or 3 days early and will stay another week in Germany, though our final itinerary is still in the planning stages.  While I've been to Europe a few times, Stacey has never been.  Also, the countries on this itinerary are all new to me.

We are wondering if there are any fellow travelers who do a little geocaching (the high-tech global treasure hunt)?  If so, we'd love to "meet" you in advance.  Also, we are pacific northwesterners (Portland, OR) -- I noticed a few other posters from the area; we should try to connect before the trip.

Regards - Stephanie & Stacey

Hi again.

I'm glad to see some women posting here.

I just wanted to volunteer my services as a "matchmaker" for any singles on the cruise.  I was one of the people who started the world leading online dating service (not the one that doesn't allow lesbian/gay singles to join), and I've gone on to start an online dating/social networking community with a small team of people.  And...as funny as this sounds....I'm also a member of the "Romance Department" for a leading cruise line.  They use me as a dating and romance expert.

I'm not sure if Olivia will organize anything for singles on the cruise....but I"m happy to chat with anyone about women, dating, flirting....and of course, online dating.  Even though I'm happily "married," I still love the world of singles.

Let's make it a really romantic cruise...whether we are single or already with someone special!

Hello All.

My partner Julie and I will be joining you.  This is our second Olivia trip.  Our first was Punta Cana, and we had a blast.  We are both the busy executive type, although I've cut back to part time consulting after the birth of our 4th child last year.  We've both been to Europe many times, but in the last ten years, for the most part we've only been there working.  Other than one trip to Ireland before my last pregnancy (and it doesn't really count as a vacation because Julie was working and I just tagged along), this is our first European vacation together..and it's our first cruise.  It will also be our fist vacation (other than a weekend) away from the baby.  That's always hard for me (for her too, but a little harder for me), but it's really good for us and our relationship.

You'll recognize us on the cruise, as we'll have the wallet full of baby/children photos (or some electronic gadget filled with baby photos).

We would love to hook up with any other Bay Area people who are going...maybe we can fly together and start the fun early??  We haven't booked flights yet, but I think we're going to try to do so soon.  Chances are we won't be able to spend any extra time in Europe, as we'll have to get back to the kids.

Trish (and Julie)

To all you first-timers, you will love traveling with Olivia!  I am going on the Danube I cruise with my friend Evelyn (who I met on an Olivia cruise). This will be my 9th trip with Olivia, and I think it will be her 18th, or something like that.  And the small cruises are the best -- intimate, and fun to get to know everyone.  Olivia does a nice job with the solo travelers also.  Have fun!

This is my first trip with Oliva and my first cruise.  So did pick one that does not rock and roll.  Traveling as a solo .  Was in Amsterdam in the early 90's to see the flower show is the only place I have been.  Have been looking at  different ways to get to Budapest.  Thought would fly from Atlanta to Prague than to Budapest on July 29/30.  Then stay at a Best Western in Budapest before we board on Aug 3.   It  would  be more fun if we could get together..
