I lived in Germany for 3 years when I was Air Force back in the 90's. I took German, and didn't even need it. It seemed like everyone there spoke English, and when I tried to speak German to them, they would answer me in English, knowing I was American! Susan

Evergreen... We are booked on the Danube cruise. This will be our second Olivia cruise. We did Alaska in 2006. Alaska was fabulous - but we think the Danube cruise will be even better. I am not very good with languages, but I have my German lessons loaded onto my iPOD. I will spend the next year and a half looking forward to the trip. In the meantime, we have a short trip to Montreal planned for this spring. Hurray for Canada! :)
