We've stayed here when it was owned by Ramada. It's a very comfortable hotel with lots to do. The food was OK. There was a nice local chinese restaurant just up the road but it might be gone now. This hotel is only a short walk up the beach from Club Med. There also was a tiny hotel on the beach about 15 minute's walk, a little too "intimate" for we "L's", if you get my drift. But we used to go there for breakfast every day to dine right at the beach & listen to classical music. They also had weekly Seafood Buffets which were excellent. I'll try to find the name.
There are other hotels at various beaches & at the Marina but we've never stayed there as we really enjoy the 12 mile beach that is Grace Bay.

Other than this one the only one I can recommend from experience is The Grace Bay Club.

Oh yes, JoJo is a dolphin...

Thanks Julie. We were looking for someplace we could go for 4 days or so pre Club Med,as we did when we went to Costa Rica. That really helped us to relax and get a base tan before all the activities of our Olivia week. Anyplace else you would recommend?
Um...I assume JoJo is a dolphin....

Another tip Madge et al: Check out the Grace Bay Club which is next door to the Club Med. Great place to eat if you want to treat yourselves one lunch or dinner time.
You might want to look it over for a future independant trip. We used to stay there & it's just beautiful.
(Well, it WAS next to Club Med & I don't think there was room to squeeze another hotel between!)

Jules,

We have photos up close and personal with JoJo! He was riding the waves on the back of the snorkel boat! If my arm was 2 feet longer I could have touched him! :) Susan

Oh, come on, evergreen, join us in Turks! The beach there is spectacular. I have recommended Provo to several people after our trip there last year. Madge, you're going to love it. And...all of the Club Med food seems to be safe to eat!

Yes Julie I remember having wonderful beach/swim/snorkel on Castaway Island in Fiji. Yikes we will be watching out for those Conch Fritters. Poor Phyl, did she have a parasite? I could probably eat them with minimal discomfort but Lynn is another story. If somewhat rare beef pushes her over the edge, I can only imagine.

Madge, once you see the beach & swim in that water on Provo you will think it hard to beat. Except, maybe? Fiji? Yes Fiji.......

Seriously, Provo is terrific. Be careful of the Conch Fritters at the Conch Farm if it's not busy. Phyl had them once on a slow day & they had obviously sat around for a while. She was sick for a year. Other tahn that precaution I offer, the food is terrific there.

Great to see more forum-ites signing up for this trip. We have checked out the resort and it looks beautiful. It does seem like a long way off though...so maybe have to look at something else. Julie, you were so right...once you go Olivia there is no other way.
Bev and Susan, lucky you going on the Tahiti trip. We had seriously considered it but the timing wasn't good. Hopefully, it will be offered again.
At the moment we are on severe thunder storm/tornado alert. Tornados seldom happen here so it is "breaking news" Jill and Jane arrive from Britain on Friday so hope we haven't been blown off the face of the earth.

We signed up yesterday! But.. before Turks and Caicos, we still have the Tahiti cruise to experience! What a trip of a lifetime that will be! For the Turkoise resort, we also have some friends that will be going as well... plus we will get to finally meet Jean and Michelle, as they said they will be signing up too! :) We've been to this resort before and absolutely loved it. The prettiest water we've ever seen.

Hi J&J
How wonderful to see you pop up here. I was getting my summer stuff out today and found my safari jacket. Now...where to wear it. As the time goes by we will see more participants and excursions etc be mentioned. We will probably go 4-5 days before to get a base tan and get Lynn chilled out for the resort. Hopefully some of our safari pals and Costa Rica ones will consider this adventure. Only 7 more weeks until your visit!!!!
