I had heard that it's cheaper to book in the middle of the week, and it turns out to be true! The same flight I looked at Saturday was $40 cheaper today -- booked!!

Wine was not part of the positive experience Smile Mixed drinks are a better way to go. With Delta generally the bigger and newer the plane, the better the trip. I haven't flown them for anything as long as from Australia, but they've been good on transatlantic. Most of the time my flights are three hours or less. I hope you have a comfy trip.

Hi Colleen, it's a long flight from Aust so it's great to hear you have found flying Delta a positive experience. Guessing they have a good wine list if you were happy with them lol   Last trip to the States we flew Air Pacific and were  quite happy with them for the long flight  but  our domestic flights to Florida and New York were with United and we were not too impressed.

we had limited choice in airlines...cannot fly any US based flights from Calgary to Vancouver without going south of the border first then flying north at a great cost......so bit the bullet and booked with Westjet...as they had afew seats left only at good times for us...feels good having the tickets now to find a sitter for our dear dog...oh my Alaska getting closer...

Everyone seems to have their favorite airlines. I fly Delta frequently, and am fine with them. That is how we are getting from Florida to Vancouver. It is the easiest for us because of our location, but I have flown them for years and have more positive than not. I can't say that about other airlines I have flown.

The EMP Museum (Experience Music Project) in Seattle, which is near the Needle, is fascinating and worth a visit if you have time.  We also enjoyed the Seattle Underground tour.

Count down clock is scary! waiting soo long and now it is so close...... We leave Adelaide on the 1st of Sept, few days in Sydney then fly to LA with Delta  ( tell me good things! have not flown with Delta before!)  then on to San Fran 5 days at Willows Inn  a Gay B and B we have stayed at before so we know that is great. Definately recommend if you are passing thru  San Fran . Train to Seattle , staying at the " Y" cos it's  so to the train station . Checking  out the gay scene at night , check out Pike Market and the Needle in the day  , then back on the train to Vancover . We are all staying at The YWCA for 3 days , then we board !!!!
