G'day ladies. I'm from Melbourne and coming on the cruise too. Flying solo aswell. 

Think i might be the baby of cruise though so if i get out hand feel free to pull the rains a little.

 Thanks for the advice.  I'm feeling decidedly relaxed already.  :)

Since Olivia charters the whole boat, normal dress codes are not in effect so we can Feel Free to dress as we please.  (i.e., you don't have to wear dress clothes to dinner)  Since this is Alaska and not a warm weather cruise, don't think many of us will be in shorts (I'm sure there will be some though !) so jeans will be acceptable in the dining room.  If you've never been on an Olivia cruise, know that they will post theme nights and dressing for that will be fun.  You'll see clothes running the gamet from jeans, causal/office wear to formal tux and fancy dresses.  Rule of thumb:  Feel Free to wear whatever !

I am sooooo looking forward to meeting everyone on the Alaska cruise.  It will be fun!  Does anyone know if we dress for dinner??  And no smart ar*e comments...   Past cruises (in warm climates) I've always worn dresses, but I'm thinking Alaska is going to be a little  cool.  Would be handy to know though ...  And any other tips you think I might need to know.  :)

Glad you guys are coming to Alaska with us.  We remember you at the Oldy/Newly wed game.  What a hoot -- especially the answer about getting busted by your son at the lake All aboard !

Great news  Megan that you are now  booked you won't regret it! This will be our second cruise with Olivia. We went on the Sun Cruise Nov 2010 for my 60th birthday. Angela my partner was not really into going on cruises, would never get her on a straight cruise! but as it was my birthday and we got together a group she agreed, We both  had such a great time it was her that surgested Alaska this time.  

My profile picture is us on the stage with Elvira Kurt  a Canadian Comedian who hosted a game called Oldy weds, Newly weds they play it on all the Olivia cruises and we were lucky enough to win the game. It was great fun and women on the connect groups who where on the Sun Cruise still remember seeing us that night!

You'll be joining a bunch more from "Oz".  If you look above, the second from the left photo is a couple from Australia who are going to be coming with a pack of friends from Down Under.

The weather in September can get cool and rainy, but not really nasty.  It just isn't going to be sunbathing temperatures.

You're going to love the Olivia cruising experience if you've been on regular cruises.

Hi! It's exciting isn't it? Anticipation! 

Packing is a bit tricky, even for us (Floridians). Layers... natural fibers, hat, gloves, water proof jacket and footwear. From what I've read so far anticipate much rain, especially in Juneau.

Hope that helps a bit and sure do hope you are able to book a cabin! 

Hi all, I'm hoping to get a berth on this cruise, but waiting to hear back from Olivia.  Being in Australia, it's a bit harder to just pick up the phone, so I'm waiting on email.  Never been on an Olivia cruise, but it's on my bucket list.  So hopefully ... Alaska here I come!   Not sure what I'd pack though ... the only cruises I've been on have been to the South Pacific.  Can't imagine not lying out on deck in the sun.  Assuming I get on the boat (!) , I'm looking forward to meeting lots of friends...
