Ok....so Chris and I(DaLynn) decided to contribute our story...
Chris is a paramedic and last Feb. she moved from Cocoa, Fl. to Daytona Beach to work for the company I had been working at as an EMT for 7 years. This particular company requires a certain amount of overtime shifts to be done by each employee to avoid being mandatoried in on your day off. So, I had signed up to work one day last April.
Prior to that day arriving, I passed Chris (who I had never worked with before)in the work bay and she said "Hey, I see you will be working with me next week".....I stopped, turned around and said "Uh, no, YOU will be working with ME!". The look she flashed me was priceless, and according to her that is when she knew she was in trouble.
The day came and we worked fabulously together...laughing, smiling, telling life stories and what not. During these conversations she found out that I was also a hairstylist/nail tech and decided since she was new in town to give me a try, and made an appointment before our shift ended.
So the morning of her appointment I was getting ready for work and thinking, "Gee, I feel a little nervous....this girl is pretty....and GAY! And she is coming in for a pedicure and manicure!!!! I'm going to be rubbing on her arms, legs and feet!!!". By the way, did I mention that I am STRAIGHT??!!!! And I am dating/living with a GUY!!!! My nervousness consumes me as I'm getting ready for work and suddenly I'm changing outfits left and right. I finally settle on one and start making my way to work.
I had just finished setting up her pedicure when she walked in talking on her cell phone and waving, looking all tan and again making my nerves a bit edgy. Then I see her feet---baby soft feet that had never been walked on barefoot. We start her pedicure and I'm doing my best to make good conversation and when it's time for the foot/leg massage she starts this oohing and ahhing and saying how I could just do this all day long. For the first time I had the crazy thought that I would like to and was glad she liked this straight girl's massage.
As we moved on to her manicure (which also had the oohing and ahhing-lol) we began talking about hair (her hair happens to be kinky, curly and unruly) and I mentioned how I could relax hers a bit to make it more manageable. She immediately agreed saying she didn't have to be in to work until later that night so she had time. After finishing up her manicure we moved over the she shampoo area.
As I start shampooing her hair I am able to really take a good look at her features up close and see that she has the most beatiful skin. And I couldn't stop staring. You have no idea how many times that day I reminded myself how straight I was.
Chris spent almost 5 hours in the salon that day with me (which is unheard of because I usually stay booked--and that day I only had her on my schedule).....I wasn't in a hurry to let her leave so I really took my time and chatted all day with her. But the time came when we were done. She made her next appointment and left.
I joined my boyfriend and his friend that evening for dinner and could not stop thinking about her. When we got home, I poured a glass of plum wine and walked outside to call my best friend. I started pouring my guts to her about how I thought I was attracted to a lesbian and how weird I felt....she laughed saying that it was normal and she too had felt that way before--many times. More wine went down and then I called Chris.
She sounded happy to hear from me and we talked until 3am--long after my boyfriend went to bed. I told her (after much more wine) what I was feeling and she said she was attracted to me as well. But I have a boyfriend--and I'm straight. Well leave it to her to ruin my scapegoat---she only dates straight girls. I am so in trouble!!!
The next week we were both working again but on 2 separate shifts and somehow she had gotten stranded at one of our sub-stations and her car was at another one--conveniently right around the corner from my house. I offered to give her a ride and she said someone had already offered one...so I found that person and said "I will take her because it is right near my house and out of the way for you."
We were both suddenly a nervous wreck being together in the same vehicle. Once we got to our destination, we were deep in conversation and she said that she would like to kiss me but not outside the station. Well, nobody was around so I said "No better time than the present". And so goes the first kiss--that lasted an hour!!!
Chris and I have pretty much been together ever since then.....and exclusive to one another since September 18, 2005. She is a an unselfish soul that has been by my side every day, holding my hand, and treating me like a princess. I am now a believer in the saying, "Never say Never"...because NEVER in a million years would I have imagined spending my life with another woman! We are now not only partners in life but permanent partners on our own truck at work.
