    LGBT Human Rights in Iran
    The International Gay & Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) issued a statement this week calling for the British Home Office to stop deportation procedures and grant asylum to Pegah Emambakshsh, an Iranian lesbian whose request for asylum was recently rejected. Lesbian film fans may recall Angelina Maccarone’s similarly themed award winning drama UNVEILED (about an Iranian lesbian seeking asylum, while passing as a man, in Germany).

     

    The US DVD release of the film also includes the hard-hitting short, EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE (narrated by Sir Ian McKellen) about IGLHRC’s efforts to fight for LGBT human rights around the world.
