Hi it's Jill here. After a wonderful time getting oriented in the hustle and bustle of New Delhi, we now find ourselves in the slower-paced city of Khajuraho. This town was such a welcome - no horns honking, no large groups of people - it is in the countryside and is very quiet and peaceful. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />We spent the afternoon touring the Western group of temples, and the following morning seeing the Eastern group.

These temples are so beautiful and ornate. There are some sexually explicit carvings, which is one of the things this site is known for.

The Hindu believe that everyone should experience all of their senses to the fullest, and to them, sex is bliss. You've heard of the Kama Sutras . . . well, it's no coincidence that this stemmed from their spirituality and believe of sex being a good thing :-) These depictions are only on the outside, and not on the inside of the temples.

You will never hear that "lesbians" were a part of this history, but I found this one carving that certainly showed three women in a sexually explicit scene, with each other . . . and still the guide would not acknowledge this . . . you be the judge! :-)

The carvings were exquisite, and so unlike anything we had seen thus far.

Our next voice will take us on a train ride to Agra to see the Taj Mahal
