Women’s Business Voice will provide a forum for the many, vast and diverse areas of women in business.  We’ll explore traditional/standard business practices, ethics and values of business, entrepreneurial ventures, new paradigms emerging by and for women around the globe and much more.  I’ll showcase and bring some visibility of exceptional efforts by business women attempting new shifts and trends.  It’s exciting to be a potential resource of some needed networking in the women’s business community.  It will be informative, insightful, consciousness expanding and controversial.

There are many “traditions” in the community of business but some truths seem to persist.   Women are often underserved by traditional institutions when it comes to their entrepreneurial ventures yet women consistently launch more successful businesses worldwide than men.  Many women have not received the traditional business training and networking skills needed in the business arena yet they creatively find avenues and pathways to success.   It might be said that there are new paradigms yet to be developed or explored because women have yet to be empowered or funded to launch these new methods of business and management styles.

Away from of traditional corporate structures and left to their personal strategies, many women function or behave much differently in leadership than their male counterparts.  Unique management skills emerge and some impressive performance stats arise.  As Ritu Sharman of the Women’s Edge Coalition, states, “Teach a man to fish, he eats.  Teach a woman to fish, everybody eats.”

So… here we go!   Let’s get down to business!

Dear Olivia Friends
I’d like to introduce you to a new collection of jewelry that I thought might
interest you. Stonewater Studio’s designs are all unique and each piece is
handmade using the finest natural gemstones. Besides their attractiveness, the
jewelry has a purpose. The natural gemstones have innate vibrational qualities
that have beneficial effects on health and well being based on energy medicine.
You can choose from necklaces, bracelets and earrings; plus there are chokers
and bracelets for men as well. They make especially great gifts and the
designer Peggy Sealfon can even make custom pieces if you have a special need.
She works with a graduate gemologist to ensure the highest quality. She is a
Crystal Medicine Therapist, certified by the American Association of Holistic
Wellness and is also a certified Reiki therapist and a trained energy healer so
her works are infused with these energies. You can visit the website at
www.StonewaterStudio.com If you order on line, you can get a 10% discount at
checkout just by entering my code: Jenni10 I hope you enjoy seeing these
unusual designs.

Warm regards,

Jenni

Wow...Such powerful statements.
I have run my own company since 1981.
I hoped to find a blog or board with loads of others exchanging info.
I guess this is not a very active site.
Would love to contribute and learn from a blog of that nature
Do you have another area that you post to

I look forward to more commentary regarding the issues described.  The phrase "Teach a Woman to Fish..." caught my attention immediately because the irony is that:

  1. My partner and I are establishing a fee fishing business on the Big Island of Hawaii.
  2. I have just published our website thecrystalrose.ws which has the slogan "Teach Them to Fish".
  3. We are having such difficulties in obtaining financial and othe assistance because we are women.
  4. We are not traditional in the business or personal sense yet we have all the combined skills to be extremely successful.

I will keep a close watch on this site for information and/or further comments by all those Business Women out there.

Mahalo (Thank You!)

Question for Olivia Travelers?

When traveling, would you be interested in turning your digital pictures into custom postcards?  Quit sending bland, boring cards!  Check out some postcards made from my recent Caribbean cruise with a group of friends - http://www.wishyouwereherepostcards.net/recenteventsnew.html

We made them on board and our family & friends at home got a kick out of them!

 Thanks for your comments/questions!

Regards,

Sue
