Women’s
Business Voice will provide a forum for the many, vast and diverse areas of
women in business. We’ll explore traditional/standard business practices,
ethics and values of business,
entrepreneurial ventures, new paradigms emerging by and for women around the
globe and much more. I’ll showcase and bring some visibility of
exceptional efforts by business women attempting new shifts and trends.
It’s exciting to be a potential resource of some needed networking in the
women’s business community. It will be informative, insightful,
consciousness expanding and controversial.
There
are many “traditions” in the community of business but some truths seem to
persist. Women are often underserved by traditional institutions
when it comes to their entrepreneurial ventures yet women consistently launch
more successful businesses worldwide than men. Many women have not
received the traditional business training and networking skills needed in the
business arena yet they creatively find avenues and pathways to
success. It might be said that there are new paradigms yet to be
developed or explored because women have yet to be empowered or funded to launch
these new methods of business and management styles.
Away
from of traditional corporate structures and left to their personal strategies,
many women function or behave much differently in leadership than their male
counterparts. Unique management skills emerge and some impressive
performance stats arise. As Ritu Sharman of the Women’s Edge Coalition,
states, “Teach a man to fish, he eats. Teach a woman to fish, everybody
eats.”
So…
here we go! Let’s get down to business!
