Our search for a community had to begin with finding a place we would all be at home, living “out” comfortably in the environment surrounding us. We also wanted to find somewhere that was affordable and possible as a second home purchase. Weather and the abundance of resort activities were other factors in our considerations, and of course, the area had to boast of natural beauty.

Tucson is a beautiful desert city surrounded by circular mountain ranges. It prides itself on being LGBT–friendly and Tucson residents tell us they mix seamlessly with the general population. Tucson already has a large LGBT community which is active politically and socially who welcomes us with open arms. The city has domestic partnership rights and several anti-discrimination laws. A reflection of this liberalism is seen in the large transgender community that chooses to live there.
